I laughed pretty hard when I saw this.:D That said, I'd never listen to whatever is on there.

Also, I don't listen to metal, but I get somewhat close with stuff like Tool and Porcupine Tree. And Primus.

This is very far from metal. This is noise core / grind core with retarded and extremely stupid song titles and lyrics that are meant to shock. AC is essentially satire and should be looked at as a joke band.

I need to give my ears a break now :)

Depeche Mode - Sounds of the Universe

verdict: win

I love that they busted out the analog synths for this record. I've only heard it at low volume out of my KSC75, but sonically it sounds much less harsh then Playing the Angel (which I also loved). A bit minimalist, sure, a bit dreamy ambient, sure, but in no way is this Exciter redux. Great vocal performances from Gahan, and Gore's production is just awesome.

Oingo Boingo, Boingo (the 1994, as opposed to Boi-ngo, the 1987 album), including a reversed version of Insanity.

Jesus Christ what a different album, I had completely forgotten they had done this. I usually only listen to "Insanity", but the rest of the album is pretty good, too. It's a bit Beatles-ish, but with Danny Elfman's inimitable twist on things. "Change" in particular is pretty epic, "Pedestrian" has a certain abstract Talking Heads groove going on, and "Can't See (Useless)" is just...well...good.

You know, I've seen this at Amazon, but somehow overlooked it way back when I was buying their albums. Maybe I didnt have enough money, maybe I confused it with the other album, I dunno.

Well in any case its now been ordered :)

Sehr gut. It's possible you heard bad things about it -- I imagine the ruckus raised by hard-core Oingo Boingo fans would have been pretty dire.

Now to revisit Dark at the End of the Tunnel, the other Oingo Boingo album I'm not as familiar with.
