Voltron Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 XTC -- Skylarking. (vinyl) Summer's Cauldron is the first song and that's what I feel like I am in right now.
Voltron Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 Billy Bragg -- Talking with the Taxman About Poetry (vinyl)
boomana Posted June 13, 2010 Report Posted June 13, 2010 Stupid album cover, great music. Which is more important?

Voltron Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 Al, check this out. It's gorgeous. Goldmund - The Malady of Elegance Rhapsody is good to me. Checking it out now and it has a similar feel but still quite unique. Very cool.
boomana Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 Rhapsody is good to me. Checking it out now and it has a similar feel but still quite unique. Very cool. Listening to Eulogoy for Evolution reminded me of it. Ralph Towner & Paolo Fresu - Chiaroscuro Kinda cocktail/dinner jazzy smooth, but good.
boomana Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 Edward Sharp & the Magnetic Zeros - Up From Below
mypasswordis Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 Claudio Abbado + Vienna Phil playing Mahler 4 Slowly making my way through all the vinyl. First LP I buy after this will be Mahler 5. And 9. And 1 and 2. Or probably just all of them.
blessingx Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 Kinda cocktail/dinner jazzy smooth, but good. Same here, but with Bobo Stenson Trio | Cantando also on ECM
Dusty Chalk Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 Deaf Pedestrians, ...and Other Distractions -- catchy hard pop, with just a touch of Social D, but without the insolent sneer. Dig.
boomana Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 Same here, but with Bobo Stenson Trio | Cantando also on ECM I don't have that one, but do have Serenity and War Orphans. If you like that, you might want to try this: Marcin Wasilewski - January. It's one of my go-tos when I'm in that kind of mood. Or the one album that got me started in the dinner/cocktail mood, but still damn good jazz (more ECM): Manu Katche -Neighbourhood Oz, tyrion's friend who owns an audio/home theater store, and who let us invade for evening pre or post-meet fun in Florida, played this on a rather nice speaker set up (don't remember what he had at the time) at my first headphone meet. I think I'll listen to it now.
boomana Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 Kris Delmhorst - Songs for a Hurricane Nate, I think you'd like this a lot.
