boomana Posted May 2, 2010 Report Posted May 2, 2010 More Nick Cave: Nice soundtrack with Warren Ellis. I love haunting music.
NightWoundsTime Posted May 2, 2010 Report Posted May 2, 2010 Porcupine Tree - We Lost the Skyline (vinyl) I really want to know how I missed out on the recording of that set. I've been to Park Ave. in Orlando before, and I'm on both their mailing list and PT's. Somehow I just completely zoned out until I bought that CD and saw where it came from on the credits. I did however, skip the most recent appearance of PT in Tampa. Their new album does nothing for me, and their typical live show is an unimaginative rehash of the most recent album. The did their first show with Gavin Harrison in Tampa, and that was the only time I've seen them really stretch out and try some different things.
boomana Posted May 2, 2010 Report Posted May 2, 2010 Soulsavers - It's not how far you fall, it's how you land
jinp6301 Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 Finished Fiona Apple - Tidal now onto: Fiona Apple - When the pawn hits the conflicts he thinks like a king What he knows throws the blows when he goes to the fight And he'll win the whole thing 'fore he enters the ring There's no body to batter when your mind is your might So when you go solo, you hold your own hand And remember that depth is the greatest of heights And if you know where you stand, then you know where to land And if you fall it won't matter, cuz you'll know that you're right man been so long since I've REALLY listened to her. getting obsessed again

grawk Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 I've been listening to the "Alt-Singer Songwriters" Genius Mix in itunes. Most of it is just dark enough to help/fit my mood. I haven't had the fortitude to pick my own music yet in a little over a week.

boomana Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 I gotta hear this. Ric, you might want to check this out: It's a two CD set with a selection of compositions from their movies and documentaries. It's a bit too much for me, but good stuff. I started digging around this weekend in the glut of cd I bought in a binge a couple of months ago, but then never got around to hearing. Kinda keeping with the Warren Ellis theme, I really love this CD: Low and Dirty Three - In the Fishtank
boomana Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 More Warren Ellis: Dirty Three - ST Indian Love Song and Everything's Fucked are gorgeous.
blessingx Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 Ric, you might want to check this out: It's a two CD set with a selection of compositions from their movies and documentaries. It's a bit too much for me, but good stuff. Thanks for the tip. Will do.
