Dusty Chalk Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 I would just like to mention that I finally got around to listening to that Bear in Heaven disk yesterday, and goddamn is it good. Lush/4ad/M83/Siouxsie/other stuff mixed together until it stops sticking to your fingers, then spread on toast.
jinp6301 Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Man, I really really like this. Thanks again Ken!

TomB Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Dirty Projectors -- Bitte Orca Great CD! Some of their previous CD's have some really disgusting looking artwork, but this one's a keeper on both counts.
Voltron Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 You don't like line drawings of hairy naked dudes? To each his own, I guess. Now playing: Portico Quartet -- Isla
Hopstretch Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Great CD! Some of their previous CD's have some really disgusting looking artwork, but this one's a keeper on both counts. Yeah, they haven't really moved that far since 2004, have they? Another vote for Bitte Orca as a great album. Bought the vinyl and it's a nice pressing too.

aardvark baguette Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 Mechanical Animals I have no idea why, but I've been spinning this and LOW repeatedly lately. MA is hit or miss, but when it hits its great.
Hopstretch Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 The Alan Parsons Project -- Ammonia Avenue
Dusty Chalk Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 (edited) Puscifer, "C" is for (Please Insert Sophomoric Genitalia Reference HERE) -- the first two tracks, in particular -- "Polar Bear" and "The Mission (M is for Milla Mix)" -- rawk. This video is kind of trippy: This one is not: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tU-hSpErIw Edited December 15, 2009 by Dusty Chalk
Dusty Chalk Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 Just finished sampling Valerie & Friends -- retro synthpop and electro goodness. Starting Morphine, At Your Service -- was listening to this earlier, need to go back to it. If you like sax and other reed instruments (baritone something on there, too), highly recommended. "...You're the bedtime story, The one that keeps the curtains closed, And I hope you're waiting for me, 'cause I can't make it on my own..."

Dang! What a revolting sight during breakfast.
n_maher Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 Greg Laswell - Covers EP A track off this was featured at the end of last week's Dollhouse episode so I decided to track it down.

robm321 Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 Thelonious Monk Plays Duke Ellington Redbook
robm321 Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 Christopher Parkening / Elmer Bernstein - Concerto for Guitar Redbook I had no idea this existed before yesterday. A surprisingly good concerto for guitar. Parkening has been at my top spot since Segovia passed, so it's all win if you're into this kind of thing.
