Fritz Reiner, Vienna, RCALSSACD -- this is just a little too gay for frequent listening*.

*"...gay..." in the traditional sense, not in the contemporary -- in other words, I.E., it's just a little too fucking happy -- I mean, it's (Joseph) Strauss waltzes, after all

I bought that on vinyl the other day. Whoever did the pressing needs to be fucked, broken and driven across the land.

My teacher at U of M (I guess I have multiple) held a concert consisting of playing through all six sonatas and partitas a month ago. It was okay, but definitely made worse due to the sheer length. Yeah, I need to get on recording some Bach.

what i love about Kremer's version is that it's not quite normal. he's mostly known for contemporary music, and his modern perspective comes through just enough to make it different and special.

I have to admit that I have not heard his version of solo Bach. I think I've only heard Perlman, Heifetz, Szeryng, Hahn, Podger, Milstein, and Mullova with a movement here and there from others. Every single version sounds pretty different to me; Bach is transparent like that. I should try Kremer sometime.

You should've heard my teacher's performance; there were some interesting decisions made in his interpretations.
