Dusty Chalk Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 Bucketheadland, Island of Lost Minds -- typical bhl stuff -- shred in odd time signature...shred some more.Trying to get through this, but jesus christ does this suck. This might be the most technical wankiest shit I've ever heard. I mean, androgyny is interesting, but rarely musically useful.
hungrych Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 Have you heard Population Override? It is worlds better than any other Buckethead stuff I've heard, alternatively funkalicious and trippy, and not wanky at all. I wish he made more stuff like it...
Dusty Chalk Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 Oh yeah, Population Override is a high point for him. Electric Tears is good, too, albeit entirely different. Big Eyeball in the Sky is probably the closest to Pop Override, sylistically.

Voltron Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 Lukestar -- Lake Toba These guys clearly have the Norwegian falsetto rock scene cornered! Pretty interesting album on first listen, and not nearly as high or creepy as Antony and the Johnsons.
