Voltron Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 John Doe from X? That's the one. He has about 6 solo albums.
grawk Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 How are they? I've only ever heard him the Knitters and in X.
Voltron Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 (edited) How are they? I've only ever heard him the Knitters and in X. Some are better than others, but I like quite a few of his records. He tends to have a lot of cool guest musicians and especially singers. Aimee Mann, Corin Tucker (Sleater/Kinney), Juliana Hatfield, Jacob Dylan, Dave Alvin, Kathleen Edwars and even Exene. Check out the first one, Meet John Doe, Dim Stars, Bright Sky, Forever Hasn't Happened Yet and the most recent, A Year in the Wilderness and the nicely diverse remixes of The Golden State with different singers. aardvark baguette Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 Freddie Hubbard - Here To Stay R.I.P.
Voltron Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 Freddie Hubbard - Here To Stay R.I.P. That is sad news. JP and tyrion saw him awhile back and he really didn't have the stuff anymore. He was only 70, so it's a drag that he wasn't in better health longer. Rest in peace Freddie, you left us some amazing music.
