Sherwood
Dusty just has a thing for Bukkake, methinks.
Dusty Chalk
Explain please. I only know the porn definition of that word, and then only because I have teenage nephews. I mean that not only will the reviews be positive, but that the reviewers will be figuratively creaming themselves. And no, I hate bukkake scenes, but one can't be it's hard to be on the internet, male, and not know what it is. If only so one knows what to avoid. Voltron
I was wondering who beat me,,,Damn you Voltron! now it comes down to who is getting theirs first...hahaha I agree order from ttvj or HR without a doubt! And, I get to pick which pair I want from the Frequency Response charts on sennheiser.com (even though I won't know which one is "better" based on that info)! I told Todd he should offer that for any buyers when he has multiple pairs available so they feel like they have some choice in the matter. Smeggy
I think dusty means all the reviewers will be figuratively gushing over the 800, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want an ex review set

Dusty Chalk
Hey Nate, just thought I would post here as I don't want to log on to head-fi. I think Jude said somewhere that the connector looks like a lemo and that all the rep told him is that it is an easily sourced connector that any cable manufacturer should be able to get their hands on.I'm betting it's the same as the AKG mini-XLR connector, although I'm not seeing the classic round button. n_maher
I'm betting it's the same as the AKG mini-XLR connector. I doubt it, they only need/want two connections at each cup and the third pin there just adds bulk and confusion.
Dusty Chalk
Oh, is there one in each cup? Missed that. I agree with your conclusion.
Sherwood
Yes. Of course the UFO smiley is the right one.
Voltron
This is what bostonears said on HF after he saw them yesterday at CES: The cable appears to be higher quality than the old HD600 series cable, and is said to be silver-plated copper. The cable connectors are definitely non-standard. They use two small pins recessed within round metal surrounds, rather than protruding from plastic as in the old design. The connectors seem much sturdier than the old style, and it might be a while before third party cable makers duplicate them.
grawk
Good chance bostonears just doesn't know every standard connector that exists
swt61
Yes. Of course the UFO smiley is the right one. I need to use up my quota of smileys from a recent late night web browsing. It's hard to find the right time to use the UFO smiley.
n_maher
I trust Jude's info a bit more. Finally found the post he made last night: <snip> I'll get the name of the exact type of connector tomorrow, but it looks like a little lemo connector. I was told that it's a standard connector, which should make the cable replacement companies happy, as well as the DIY'ers.

Hmmm, sounds suspiciously like the LEMO connector Jude eluded to yesterday to me.
Voltron
I trust Jude's info a bit more. Finally found the post he made last night: Dan and Nate, I agree with you. I was just including his physical description of it which could be a Lemo type or not. I wouldn't expect him to know if it is really standard or not. Should have been more clear. Sherwood
The original Chinese leak over a year ago mentioned them being available in black and with an amp, but i've not seen any other data to suggest it. I'd think if it was, they'd have the black model and the amp at CES. Of course, I thought the Chinese leak was fake.
