diebenkorn Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 no, bands like Dragonforce fit under the category "can't play their songs live." They can't play their songs live because it will destroy the space time continuum.
grawk Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 And you know this how? Do you really know that Joe Satriani does not consider himself an artist? What he feels that he is isn't relevant to the conversation. You're welcome to believe that satriani is an artist. You'd be wrong, but you're welcome to hold that opinion.
Dusty Chalk Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 No, he's saying that he knows this about Satriani's audience how? It's one of them "overgeneralizations". His appeal to Sherwood might be as a technician only (although I get the impression there's no appeal whatsoever). His appeal to me is as an artist, so it making it sound like his universal appeal doesn't apply to me is simply fallacious, I don't care how long he spent with his annoying guitar player/Satriani fan. That just makes him more predisposed towards being predisposed...erm...biased, that is.
Sherwood Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 This has devolved into semantics, so far as I can see. Your points are well-taken, Dusty.
atothex Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 I'll admit it: shred is one of my musical guilty pleasures. Who likes Michael Angelo Batio?
GPH Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 Michael Angelo Batio is not my kind of stuff, but his double guitar thing is cheesy to the point of being very funny. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nM8-_ikFX6I]YouTube - Michael Angelo Double Guitar[/ame]

YouTube - Michael Angelo Double Guitar I wanna know how the hell can you wear stonewash jeans and play inside them at the same time?
Dusty Chalk Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 if it makes you feel any better, i have the flu.Sorry to hear that. Hope you feel better soon.
Fungi Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 Twin guitar, try QUAD guitar. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rcc7IL18m0I]YouTube - Michael Angelo Batio 4 Guitars[/ame]
Knuckledragger Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 I remember when that video was current. Nitro were pretty over the top, even by the standards of ca. 1989 hair metal cock rockers.
Voltron Posted December 25, 2008 Author Report Posted December 25, 2008 Any guitar held up by wires is cunty and stupid.
catscratch Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 I really liked Angelo's "No Boundaries," and not only because of a soft spot for pointless instrumental wankery. Some of the tracks were really well written. As for Nitro... ugh.
