ph0rk Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 I just fired up my spanking-new Rockhopper M3 (Thanks, Stephen!). Power is good. My k701 almost sounds bassy! My k271 almost has slam! My crappy music sounds slightly less crappy! There is still treble! I'm not even drunk yet! I have a half fifth of Gentleman Jack on my desk! If I had only known what this could sound like I'd have ordered one a year ago. I really hope this doesn't mean a β22 is in my future.
ph0rk Posted November 27, 2008 Author Report Posted November 27, 2008 The k701, more often than not an 0404 usb's onboard amp (I know, I know), the k271, a gilmore lite. I have a beast of a dehumidifer in my apartment (not optional), so open headphones don't get a great deal of use right now.
Fungi Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 Did you miss that M^3 thread? And the fact that some people have found the M^3 so good as to not really want to go higher, at least for a long time?
grawk Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 my m3 is definitely an endgame amp for me.
boomana Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 my m3 is definitely an endgame amp for me. But your m3 is not your average m3.
bperboy Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 ^^ Is that the balanced M^3? I kind of remember it from CanJam...
bperboy Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 Yeah, I remember seeing it.. didn't get a chance to listen though.

Grahame Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 my m3 is definitely an endgame amp for me. But you can feel the pull of a balanced β22 and σ22, can't you? >>
tyrion Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 my m3 is definitely an endgame amp for me. Your M3 sounds great when it's working.
grawk Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 can't blame the amp for that, it was strictly my fault
tyrion Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 can't blame the amp for that, it was strictly my fault Definitely your fault.
bperboy Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 Storytime storytime! I wanna know! [/whiny plea for story]
JBLoudG20 Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 Storytime storytime! I wanna know! [/whiny plea for story] Annoying fuck. [/dealing with annoying whiners] He hooked it up wrong. Man this reminds me exactly like 5 year olds whining at their mothers at Thanksgiving dinner.
grawk Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 Jay's on the rag, ignore him. He's right tho, not an exciting story. I just accidentally shorted the outputs of headroom monoblocks to the outputs of my m3. 3 smoked amps
Tyll Hertsens Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 I just accidentally shorted the outputs of headroom monoblocks to the outputs of my m3. 3 smoked amps No way, dude! Did the amps really blow? Please let me know and I'll see if there's something we can do for you.
grawk Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 Tyll, those were the loaners that I blew up. Tho if you wanted to send me a pair of monoblocks to replace the ones you loaned me, I'd be happy
guzziguy Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 No way, dude! Did the amps really blow? Please let me know and I'll see if there's something we can do for you. Hey Tyll. I know that you guys are great with amplifiers and such, but I highly doubt that you have the skill to fix Dan.
