Voltron Posted April 2, 2013 Report Posted April 2, 2013 I agree with the disconnectedness but I think they are stuck with doing an opening episode like this one to remind old viewers where the many convoluted story threads lie and to orient new viewers. Plenty of action in the second book and it should get rolling soon. Quote
Voltron Posted June 3, 2013 Report Posted June 3, 2013 I guess you didn't read the books. It was worse in writing. Quote
Dreadhead Posted June 3, 2013 Report Posted June 3, 2013 I guess there is a new episode to watch and wince at Quote
grawk Posted June 3, 2013 Report Posted June 3, 2013 George R R Martin doesn't mind killing popular or significant characters Quote
blessingx Posted June 3, 2013 Report Posted June 3, 2013 Haven't seen yet to know how accurate, but fun collection of tweets on last night... http://feedly.com/k/17iDLe6 Quote
postjack Posted June 3, 2013 Report Posted June 3, 2013 long time fan of the books, big fan of how last night's episode was handled. very very well done, and absolutely devastating. melody was a mess afterwards. Quote
Pars Posted June 3, 2013 Report Posted June 3, 2013 I haven't read the books, but rather shocking, though I suppose fitting... Quote
emelius Posted June 3, 2013 Report Posted June 3, 2013 great...now it's just a bunch of children playing with dragons... Quote
naamanf Posted June 3, 2013 Report Posted June 3, 2013 Wtf. Just. What. The. Fuck. My thoughts exactly Quote
VPI Posted June 4, 2013 Report Posted June 4, 2013 (edited) just watched. way, way worse in the book. I am guessing the next episode might have some of the post massacre stuff, wolfboy, etc. I wish the writer would just finish this story as I am sick of being 10+k pages in and seeing very little of the vengeance I am seeking. blessingx Posted June 4, 2013 Report Posted June 4, 2013 Saw last night. Was this the first episode that ended...with less characters than when it started? Quote
morphsci Posted June 4, 2013 Report Posted June 4, 2013 Tony Stark does finally redeem his family at the end, I'm guessing. Cool! Ironman v. The Dragons. Quote
ironbut Posted June 5, 2013 Report Posted June 5, 2013 Yeah,.. watched it last night and was curious what all the hu-bub was about? Yikes! Of course after Ned's untimely demise, I guess I shouldn't be that surprised. Quote
TMoney Posted June 5, 2013 Report Posted June 5, 2013 Is it wrong to kind of like the Lannisters? Leave Geoffry and his mother out of it as they have very few redeeming qualities. Tyrion is awesome, natch. Jamie can be a D-Bag but has a softer side to him. Tywin is kind of a dick to Tyrion but otherwise the guy has his sh*t together in a Machiavellian kind of way. Since he has been the Hand things have been pretty darn stable at King's Landing. Moreso than at any other time on the show, right? Tywin is the "king" that King's Landing needs, right? Maybe he is more of a bad guy in the books, but I gotta say I kind of like him on the show. Quote

TMoney Posted April 14, 2014 Report Posted April 14, 2014 There were some brutal kills in that episode, even by GoT standards. The one at the end... wow. Quote
