Voltron Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 Two great episodes in a row Agreed. This week was particularly good. Just hope the new cycle holds!
emelius Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 if you lot hadn't noticed, season 1 episode 7 is on the interwebs...it was aired on HBO Go (which I don't get even though I have HBO--they haven't yet inked a deal with TWC/Brighthouse)...anywho, hit up bittorrent if you wanna see it...best watched on a mobile or a laptop...
morphsci Posted May 24, 2011 Report Posted May 24, 2011 I must be the outlier here. I initially liked it a lot but as it progresses I find myself becoming less interested in watching. None of the characters are particularly well developed and the story is not particularly engaging. I will finish out the season and hope for better. On Sundays I have been looking forward to watching The Killing a lot more.
NightWoundsTime Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 Just realized that it's over already, as is The Borgias. I stopped watching until I read the book. Reading another lengthy novel beforehand to forget most of what I saw of the show, get a fresh take on it.

Voltron Posted June 20, 2011 Report Posted June 20, 2011 (edited) I thought the finale was very strong and opened up so many questions and plot lines that I am pissed I have to wait until next Spring for another episode. I think I will start reading the books on our trip. Edited June 20, 2011 by Voltron
acidbasement Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 I really liked that show. Did the first season follow (ie. skim over, I'm sure) the first book in its entirety, or are we still only part of the way through the first book? In any event, I will be reading the books shortly.
manaox2 Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 I did enjoy this season and am now back to playing the waiting game until June 27th (birthday/weeds premiere) and July 17th (breaking bad).
Knuckledragger Posted January 3, 2012 Report Posted January 3, 2012 Bump. I have been crushingly sick for two days now (worst birthday evar, but I digress). It's been impossible for me to drive anywhere, and difficult to even keep the wood stove lit. The one upside to my predicament is that I have been mainlining Game of Thrones like it was the most minty fresh crack rock ever and my laptop was an autoloading crack pipe.
deepak Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 Lots of rumors that HBO has renewed it for season 3 and 4.
acidbasement Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 That's good news. Splitting A Storm of Swords into two seasons gives Martin another year to finish off the book series, though I still have my doubts that he'll live long enough to do so.
tyrion Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 As much as I loved the first season I thought they could have split it into two seasons. As I recall, the Storm of Swords was the longer book of the first three.
acidbasement Posted March 12, 2012 Report Posted March 12, 2012 George R.R. Martin was interviewed on CBC radio this morning. You can stream it here.
crappyjones123 Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 Just started watching season 1 of the show. Haven't read the books but 2 episodes in, I'm enjoying it a fair bit.
jp11801 Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 started to re watch season one in prep but this could get confusing as I am also 3/4 of the way into the audible of book 3
crappyjones123 Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 Jesus christ. Needed to stay up all night working on Physics. 7 episodes down. I am thinking I should slow down as season 2 isn't available yet.
crappyjones123 Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 Game of thrones season 1 over. The first half was nice and at a good fast pace. The second half seemed rushed - maybe it just felt that way bc of the twist and turns. Not having read the books I certainly expect some of the twists. I enjoyed the content but feel like it should have been a bit longer. Hbo has some excellent shows. I wish there wasn't nudity in the shows so I could watch it at home. I subscribed to Hbo and showtime a while back but got it cancelled due to parental issues. I don't find it offensive but parents are hardcore Indians.
