thrice Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 Sweet. I hear some people think wet shaving is a hobby too. How about chunking pumkins with trebuchets: World Championship PunkinChunkin
grawk Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 My sister in law was on the power tool dragraces when they were shown on TLC one year. She rode a chain saw powered chopper. They even featured her build segment. She's an artist living in SF.
swt61 Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 They hold these belt sander races at a little bar about 3 minutes from my house. They're wildly fun to watch, but people keep trying to get me to race my $400.00 sander that is a work tool. You should see some of the modifications some people do. http://www.beltsanderracing.net/beltsanderracingphotos.html The second set of pics is from my neighborhood bar.

Hopstretch Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 auto fellatio? Thats a pretty strange hobby. Probably more of a "calling".
n_maher Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 How about chunking pumkins with trebuchets: I kid you not, when I was waiting in line to vote the other morning the woman in front of me was talking with a friend about launching pumpkins with their home made trebuchet. NH Hick Town, FTW!
thrice Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 I kid you not, when I was waiting in line to vote the other morning the woman in front of me was talking with a friend about launching pumpkins with their home made trebuchet. NH Hick Town, FTW! When I have a house with a yard big enough, I too will help my children build a small trebuchet with which to launch various items. Teaches physics..... and how to build, calibrate and fire medieval war machines. Pretty efficient.
MexicanDragon Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 Heh... as an engineering student in college engineer we had to team up and build trebuchets at a certain budget (either 15, 25, or 35$, can't remember which). I believe we chucked some kind of fruit... it was an interesting project... I also do a bit of Pez Collecting. **BRENT**
