I think a pair sold for more than $5900 recently on headfi, so I don't think that price is out of line. That said, I'm not interested in a $6000 pair of sony headphones :)

not to hijack the thread but while we're on the subject of how much is too much, what is the max you guys would pay for the L3000? (I don't have one to sell or anything, looking to get one someday)

I haven't been watching out for them all that much, but it seems they are showing up even less often than usual on the used market. So that certainly influences price. I would say a completely stock L3000s with all the accessories might easily fetch around $2250 on the US/UK market and up to $2650.

I've been keeping track and the demand has caused the price to rise in the last six months.

They're now fetching about $2400-2500 minimum, with some willing to pay upwards of $2800-3000.

Geez, 6k. I have no doubt that someone will buy them though. And the next pair is going to be more than 6k.

I'll take my $1400 O2 Mk1, thanks. Even if the R10 was $1400 I'll still take the O2. But YMMV ;)

They do look to be in great shape. Hope the inside is as good as the outside.
