riceboy Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 Those look to be a wonderful condition. Also the seller if very, very reputable as well.
naamanf Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 When they are asking the Kings Ransom for it, yes.
Akabeth Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 I wish I can afford a backup pair. /dream With that said, it seems that the wooden cups and leather on this pair seems to be in a reaaaally nice condition
Aura Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 It's a shame how god-damned expensive it's gotten. Oh well.
penger Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 Isn't lobsterstan the guy from head-fi who runs that japanese auction site for headphones and stuff?
JBLoudG20 Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 Isn't lobsterstan the guy from head-fi who runs that japanese auction site for headphones and stuff? yup. His name is craig, and he runs kuboten.
spritzer Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 Craig is a great guy but the prices for the R10 are way out of hand. Have any of these people ever heard of speakers?
Augsburger Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 How'd you do dat? Wish I could add infinity to my posts once in a while.
foo_me Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 i'm tempted...hope it sells before i decide
grawk Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 I think a pair sold for more than $5900 recently on headfi, so I don't think that price is out of line. That said, I'm not interested in a $6000 pair of sony headphones
guzziguy Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 How'd you do dat? Wish I could add infinity to my posts once in a while. start>Run>charmap in Windoze
Icarium Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 i'm tempted...hope it sells before i decide Shoulda bought my pair!
ultros Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 not to hijack the thread but while we're on the subject of how much is too much, what is the max you guys would pay for the L3000? (I don't have one to sell or anything, looking to get one someday)
aardvark baguette Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 not to hijack the thread but while we're on the subject of how much is too much, what is the max you guys would pay for the L3000? (I don't have one to sell or anything, looking to get one someday) Exactly one penny more than they're worth.
909 Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 I haven't been watching out for them all that much, but it seems they are showing up even less often than usual on the used market. So that certainly influences price. I would say a completely stock L3000s with all the accessories might easily fetch around $2250 on the US/UK market and up to $2650.

I've been keeping track and the demand has caused the price to rise in the last six months. They're now fetching about $2400-2500 minimum, with some willing to pay upwards of $2800-3000.
purk Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 I think he just won that auction a week ago in yahoo japan. The winning bid price was around 480,000 yen. Very beautiful pair though.
catscratch Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 Geez, 6k. I have no doubt that someone will buy them though. And the next pair is going to be more than 6k. I'll take my $1400 O2 Mk1, thanks. Even if the R10 was $1400 I'll still take the O2. But YMMV They do look to be in great shape. Hope the inside is as good as the outside.
Icarium Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 It'd actually be a toss up to me.. would be decided by amp.
