I am thinking of building a new plinth for my Dual turntable, but that is so far back that it's not even in the queue to get into the queue My only thoughts are that it would be nice to have a worklight on the table. My Delta has one and it's immensely helpful. I have several clip-on work lights that I use across the shop where necessary so a built-in work-light while nice is not a necessity. I don't see the twelve discrete speeds as being a significant detriment. The variable speed models are significantly more expensive. Quote

I didn't see that it was variable at all, 12 steps is probably ok as long as you can change it on the fly and don't have to pop a cover and swap belts or some such nonsense. Quote
