n_maher Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 Tried to register, it's been an hour and still no email from them. I'm guessing they've fully overloaded and crashed now.
grawk Posted October 28, 2008 Author Report Posted October 28, 2008 check http://lameduck.codeweavers.com/free/ They got overloaded, so they've changed the process a bit, and extended it through the end of the month.
n_maher Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 I tried a different email address and the email came through this time.
GPH Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 Thanks for the link grawk. No real need for it since I already have Windows XP on a separate partition, but you can't refuse freebies like that.
grawk Posted October 28, 2008 Author Report Posted October 28, 2008 The memory footprint is a LOT smaller
Knuckledragger Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 I downloaded both CrossOver and CrossOver Games last night, before the rush got really serious. CrossOver registered immediately, but as of yet, I haven't been able to get the Games version to reg. It complains about a corrupted download. I'm not sure if this is the file I have, or some problem it is having with the CodeWeavers server.
Knuckledragger Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 I am sad that Crossover Games cannot run Supreme Commander.
Knuckledragger Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 Not really, SupCom is hugely resource intensive. I beat both SupCom and SC:FA on my poor PC and the later boards of Forged Alliance were essentially "turn based" for me. I'd pause the game, suss out the situation, give my units orders, then unpause and watch the action unfold at 2-3FPS. This was at the lowest possible detail setting. The thing is, in my advanced years, very few video games interest me. I was obsessed with Total Annihilation back in the day. SupCom, being the spiritual success of TA, was the one game that captivated me last year. I'm probably in the clear for future video game addictions untill Fallout 3 and StarCraft 2 come out.
Knuckledragger Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 I should also note that it looks like CodeWeavers have upgraded CrossOver since last night, from 7.1.0 to 7.1.1. I'm trying the new version now.
ojnihs Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 well i got the serial number and registered with codeweavers and everything, downloaded the demoes, and couldn't register them for the life of me. ended up deleting the demoes and just downloading the unlocked versions they put up after the server went kapoot.
