GPH
Splitzer, is that spritzer said with a Japanese accent?
spritzer
I'm not sure what amp that is but it's not a T2, since there are no tubes anywhere. It does look like it originated from this site though I can't find it there... Splitzer, is that spritzer said with a Japanese accent? It's the engrish version of me.... kevin gilmore
Certainly NOT a T2. Stacked output transistors. I've stayed away from designs like this because thermal tracking and bias problems can be very tricky. 1 extra milliamp in the output stage, and lots of burned up parts. If you do it as class B strictly as Koss does and put lots of feedback around it, it sounds like shit. At least it has the posibility of being completely DC coupled. It may in fact work really well. Someone would have to actually build it. with a total voltage supply of 1320 volts, the ratings on the output transistors is pushed past their max of 1200 volts. Clip the amplifier a few times and it likely smokes. Schematic as shown has an obvious and severe error at the minus input of the front end being grounded. morphsci
knowing u guys are interested in the schematic for this amp so i went around begging people in other forum for this, finally got it is this the correct schematic for that amp? And exactly what amp would that be?
diebenkorn
Whats a that amp?
boomana
So you got a schematic and decided to post it on a public forum. Why choose to do so without saying what amp?
Fitz
That's the game: figure out wtf it is.

Duggeh
Fairly certain that amp is the Dougmac mark 4 Photon amp. I came up with the design about 3 years ago. Didn't think that the layout was pretty so I never followed it up. Whens my date?
morphsci
Actually it's an Asshat Mark 1 ... Oh sorry, that would be the OP. (You know we really do need an asshat smiley)
wrecked_porsche
No, the OP is mark II since mark 1 is better than mark II. Mark II has a slight mid bass hump... uh i mean asshat hump, unlike mark 1 which is quite neutral.
dvse
And what exactly (other than spelling) makes the OP an asshat?
morphsci
And what exactly (other than spelling) makes the OP an asshat? Do a little more research and then get back to us. Thanks and have a nice day.

Can't see anything from the post history, unless you are one of those seriously deluded people who believe that some form of IP protection applies to a circuit diagram such as that (or the earlier Rudistor thread).
