d_rayman Posted October 20, 2008 Author Report Posted October 20, 2008 sorry for my dumb question. I have never used a transporter. Is the concept of transporter the same as a CD player? cd player is also a kind of transporter , right?
Tachikoma Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 Erm, anything that outputs a digital audio signal = transport I suppose? So your soundcard is a transport, a CDP is a transport, the Transporter (name of the product) is a transport, etc.
d_rayman Posted October 20, 2008 Author Report Posted October 20, 2008 go listen to some other people's stuff (at a meet, or auditions at a store or something) before you start dropping cash. you are right;) I am waiting for Can Jam in LA now;D
lostonetr Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 my current DAC is benchmark DAC1. The reason why i want to upgrade my card is that i want to improve the digital signal in my card before transferring it to the DAC.... ... However, I really want to improve my current setup but have no idea how to do it. right now it is HDSP 9632 --> accustic MKIV ---> rudistor rpx 100 ---> headphones should i consider power distributor because right now everything has been plug into a 5$ power outlet which connects directly to the wall. So...do you have a benchmark DAC1 or an Accustic Arts Dac 1-Mk4 ? You've named...two different dac1's. Seems kind of weird. I half suspect this is one of those posts in jests..hoping we'd recommend something crazy so you can point and laugh at the stereotype of an audiophile. But whatever. you are right;) I am waiting for Can Jam in LA now;D It's a nice long wait. Probably good time to do some reading, and look out for some mini-meets that might happen before the big one @ LA in 09. If you were to use the logitech transporter as a transport, then you might not need your sound card any longer. Might be able to sell it to fund part of the process.
