luvdunhill
sorry, been too busy working a BOM for this project: diyAudio Forums - How cheap can you get? ~$60 assembled pair w/ bamboo enclosures - offer advice. - Page
Grand Enigma
You will clearly need the custom super fancy ALO cables to go with said amp... I cant wait until his own cables start breaking his own amps.

luvdunhill
I'd just offer an hardwired version... seems reasonable enough.
Grand Enigma
Might be hard to fit 00 gauge wire on the PCB
luvdunhill
maybe he can custom order them from Ti ... or is the some other amp
Voltron
If it is a double M^3, shouldn't it be an M^6?
Grand Enigma
Order of operations.... it would be 2 x (M^3)
en480c4
Considering the 3 is for an active ground, wouldn't it be more 2 x (M^2)?

Grand Enigma
Considering the 3 is for an active ground, wouldn't it be more 2 x (M^2)? Good call... more false advertising and lies! What state is he located in?
Salt Peanuts
What state is he located in? ALO? Oregon, IIRC.
Fungi
Um... M^3, or Mini^3?
GPH
It's either a Mini^3 or some secret ALO project that uses the same name as the DIY amp, in which case it would be very lame. A real M^3 running on 9V lithium batteries wouldn't fit in such a small enclosure.

naamanf
Considering that the front and back panels exactly match a Mini3 I am going to say that is what it is. The big question is how much is he going to charge. If it's pricing matches that of his LODs I would say it is going to be in the neighbor hood of $300-400 which we all know is a joke. $150 I think would be in the realm of resonable. I think it's a funny that people are congratulating him like he reinvented the wheel. Edit: And I am glad to see he went all out on nice hardware and knob
n_maher
Yeah, stock phillips head screws FTFL. And I really hope that it isn't the mini3, that would make me very, very sad.

If it is, did he bother to get permission? Or is this just a "similar" amp? And using the same name as another Amb DIY amp... those were the two issues that bothered me when I saw this. Also ran across this (earlier, the quoted post)... ironic, no? It got better when I went back to read it tonight Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio - View Single Post - Ray Samuel Tomahawk, anything similar? Drew of Shellbook tried to do that with the M^3 among other amps.

''Even my custom volume knob....'' Hahahaaa good stuff! Back to the OP, I just hope that he posts some internal pics to see where the boards are from and what the design is. It would be a shame if it's really a Mini^3, using a DIY design for profits...
