naamanf Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 (edited) I am getting ready to come home in about a month and have to start mailing my gear home. I figure rather than have it sit around, it might was well get some use. I have already offered up the Buffalo and currently have: SWT61->Augsburger->Deepak. The Buffalo will be set up for SPDIF use only. I was hoping the guys at TP would have had the MUX ready by now but no such luck. The Buffalo is in a beat up Par-Metal case so it isn't much of a looker but should give an idea of the sound. The other item for loan is the HE 1.2B. This obviously would require a pro-bias amp or transformer set up with a Stax pro-bias jack. I say each person could try the items for a week or less and then send them to the next person on the list. I will pay shipping to the first person and that person will then pay shipping to the next. If your interested shoot me a PM. Update # 2 Okay I think the Buffalo list is done. Maybe once it gets rolling I might allow others but for now it will be SWT61->Augsburger->Deepak->jinp6301->Postjack->Pars Okay it looks like I have the list for the 1.2Bs as well now. Pabbi/Luvdunhill->Tyrion->Deepak->VPI->Faust3D->Catscratch I will most likely be shipping out the both the Buffalo and 1.2B on Tuesday. Edited October 12, 2008 by deepak
boomana Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 naamanf, I'm not in need of anything, but just want to say this is a pretty wonderful thing to do, plus it's nice to know you'll be home for the holidays. Happy packing!
swt61 Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 Sweet! I can't wait to hear the Buffalo, and I'll be a very good boy and pass it down the list after a few long weekend listening days. This is a very cool thing to do Naamanf!
tyrion Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 Very happy to see you are coming home and interested in the HE Audio 1.2B.
naamanf Posted October 11, 2008 Author Report Posted October 11, 2008 I should probably add that this is only open for people in the US. Not that I mind them going to of the country I just think they would spend to much time in customs going back and forth.
deepak Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 Naaman I'd love to get on the HE 1.2b loaner as well. I'm not in a hurry to replace my DAC so I don't mind waiting a while for the Buffalo. You can put postjack in front of me.
pabbi1 Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 I would like the HE 1.2b for myself and luvdunhill to try at the Houston meet with my BH and his KGSS, well, if he can get it reassembled... SWT61 will be there as well. That is on Oct 25th, if that can work out... maybe logistically to luvdunhill since he has my BH currently.
naamanf Posted October 11, 2008 Author Report Posted October 11, 2008 Okay so far I have: Buffalo: SWT61->Augsburger->Deepak->jinp6301->Postjack HE 1.2B Pabbi/Luvdunhill->Tyrion->Deepak->VPI SWT61 will also be bringing the Buffalo to the Houston meet.
Pars Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 I'd like to have a listen to the Buffalo as well! Glad to see you are finally getting out of there.
luvdunhill Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 wow, more cool stuff in Houston it seems
naamanf Posted October 11, 2008 Author Report Posted October 11, 2008 Okay I think the Buffalo list is done. Maybe once it gets rolling I might allow others but for now it will be SWT61->Augsburger->Deepak->jinp6301->Postjack->Pars
Voltron Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 naamanf- What a cool idea. I look forward to hearing the He 1.2B again if it is tyrion's hands for the Tampa meet. Cheers and be safe!
Icarium Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 I'd be interested in hearing the Buffalo if you aren't full up. I live in California area code 94043
faust3d Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 I would be interested in HE Audio 1.2B loaner program:cool:
catscratch Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 I would love to go on the 1.2B loaner list, if possible. System will be Opus 21 --> SRM-717 or SRD-7 Pro/Dared VP-20, and comparisons against O2 Mk1 will be made. Let me know.
lostonetr Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 I'm in no condition to wear a can over my head, but just curious by spdif is it coax or optical.
Gabe Logan Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 Sign me up for the Buffalo when you decide to do this again.
Augsburger Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 naamanf, I'm not in need of anything, but just want to say this is a pretty wonderful thing to do, plus it's nice to know you'll be home for the holidays. Happy packing! I am ashamed for not stating what Boomana has just done; thank you Naaman, you are the man! Be safe so that we can have you stateside and attending meets. Of course without the sidearm. I can't wait to demo the Buffalo. Yippeeee!
postjack Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 in the spirit of naamanf's generosity, I'm going to start an SVS sub loaner program.
Salt Peanuts Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 in the spirit of naamanf's generosity, I'm going to start an SVS sub loaner program. Damn, I wish could take part in that, but there's no way I'm risking someone else's sub with two kittens around.
naamanf Posted October 12, 2008 Author Report Posted October 12, 2008 Okay it looks like I have the list for the 1.2Bs as well now. Pabbi/Luvdunhill->Tyrion->Deepak->VPI->Faust3D->Catscratch I will most likely be shipping out the both the Buffalo and 1.2B on Tuesday.
catscratch Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Sweet! Thanks for putting me on the list, and thanks for doing this! It's unbelievably generous. Also, these cans could very well be very important in the high-end market if they really are good, and it will be very helpful to the community to have a solid base of impressions right at release time.
cclragnarok Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 I look forward to the impressions/comparisons/reviews.
