blessingx Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 So I'm considering running two amps off a single source, and was wondering if anyone had any experience with and could comment on signal degradation with Ys/2-for-1 adapters such as ... ? Was avoiding a switch box if possible. Quote
n_maher Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 (edited) As usual, I prefer to make my own. As far as signal degradation is concerned the guy who I built those for claimed there was none. And he doesn't exactly have a crappy rig. Edited September 17, 2008 by n_maher Quote
jinp6301 Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 I used a pair of radioshack splitters for a while and it didnt seem like it degraded the signal in any way. Quote
Grand Enigma Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 Like the others said. You will not notice any ill effect using the adapters. Quote
MrSlacker Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 i use a pair of RadioShack ones and they seem to get the job done quite well Quote
Voltron Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 I agree that there should be no problem and have used the type you pictured, but I recall something about not having both amps on at the same time or something about "feedback" for lack of a more accurate term going to the source, etc. If anybody has those kind of guidelines, it would be nice to know them. n_maher Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 If you have both amps on at the same time your source will have to drive both at the same time and that could cause problems depending on the abilities of the source's output stage. Quote
strid3r Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 I have a pair like in your picture and have not noticed any degradation in quality. Quote
