penger Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 Fantasy is cool, but sucks when you forget to make changes and lose because of it.
4N6 Posted October 2, 2008 Report Posted October 2, 2008 My world is a little rocked right now. Shoulder injury to the starting QB and two rookies as back-ups. If the shoulder is a show stopper for Rogers, Green Bay's season is OVER. I think I need a drink...
4N6 Posted October 18, 2008 Report Posted October 18, 2008 I am sooooo looking forward to this weekends Green Bay/Indianapolis game! Should be awesome. And no, not small batch bourbon. I prefer Edradour Single Malt Scotch.
4N6 Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 Isn't Peyton Manning the greatest quarterback EVER?!? All those Sony adds, Oreo adds, and practically being the NFL poster child, he must be!!! Too bad about those two interceptions run back for touchdowns, however!
riceboy Posted October 20, 2008 Author Report Posted October 20, 2008 I must say that the Packers has the two best starting cornerbacks in the league bar none. I wish my team did better, but at least it was closer than I expected.
riceboy Posted October 21, 2008 Author Report Posted October 21, 2008 Finally, the Niner Organization has gotten rid of Nolan. IMHO Nolan had ever opportunity last year and this year. The Yorks (owner of the Niners) brought in the players he asked for. Heck, they even have Martz now as the Offensive coordinator which is a heck better than being last on offense like last year. He is supposed to be a defensive genius and he did a good job at Baltimore, but the defense for the Niners have been subpar IMO. Now for the new coarch; I have a deep respect for Mike Singletary. Not sure if he is ready for a head coaching roll, but I am very happy he got the nod.
4N6 Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 My Pack have the week off so I am stuck watching the other teams play. The Giants/Steelers game should be a good one. The Tampa/Dallas game is pretty good so far...Go Tampa!
penger Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 My fantasy team got destroyed... the friend I was matched up against had Maurice Jones-Drew and Jay Cutler in his starting lineup...
riceboy Posted November 10, 2008 Author Report Posted November 10, 2008 My fantasy team got destroyed... the friend I was matched up against had Maurice Jones-Drew and Jay Cutler in his starting lineup... Ouch and double ouch. I was lucky and picked up the Jets on D this week and Bo Scaiffe (TE). Those two alone helped carry me through to next week
riceboy Posted November 10, 2008 Author Report Posted November 10, 2008 Well I hope my team the Niners can put up a relatively good showing against the Offensive firepower of the Cardinals. They are ranked number 1 in the league and the D for the Niners need some help.
riceboy Posted November 11, 2008 Author Report Posted November 11, 2008 Phew... 1st quarter is done and the highest offense in the land is getting 3 and outs for now. I hope they can keep it up. How about the run vs pass calls for the Niners. I like it.
riceboy Posted November 11, 2008 Author Report Posted November 11, 2008 Oh Snap!!! Run, run, run, run, run, run, pass touchdown. I'm really liking this
penger Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 haha yeah. Too bad they couldn't convert on the last play. Oh and did I mention he has Anquan Boldin too?
riceboy Posted November 12, 2008 Author Report Posted November 12, 2008 The last drive was a disaster after the Hill to Hill completion. When they were down on the 2 with 44 seconds they took 24 seconds to spike the ball. For some reason and I'm not sure who called this, but they decided to change personnel instead of just running up to the line and spiking the ball. Also I just saw this article which is making more sense on why they called that FB draw (which I didn't like that call as I think Gore should have had the ball if they really wanted to run it). But the article linked explains a lot for me as to what was some of the confusion. I hope they can take the positives of that game and move forward. Overall, watching that game really hit me with a sick and disappointing feeling . I do like how Singletary got his guys really to play against a divisional opponent with the best Offense in the NFL that was supposed to steam roll over the Niner defense. Singletary: Officiating confusion hampered 49ers in ugly loss
penger Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 Yeah. I hope they keep him on next year. The Niners are definitely playing with a different feel now that he's the head coach. As for the offense, I think Singletary needs to let Martz open it up a bit more. Those two first drives were just stacked with run plays.
riceboy Posted December 8, 2008 Author Report Posted December 8, 2008 Well my team last week broke the trend of West Coast teams being 0 - 15 when traveling to the East Coast. This week they beat the Jets who are 8 - 4 and the Niners at 4 - 8. I think this win will probably give the nod to Singletary to be Head Coach next year. They really are playing to the end more than they used to under Nolan.
atothex Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 Man, I can't wait for football season. Don't like baseball or golf or whatever else is in the summer...
terriblepaulz Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 As a Cubs fan, there are two words keeping me going: Jay Cutler
atothex Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 As a Cubs fan, there are two words keeping me going: Derrick Rose I know, right?
terriblepaulz Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 I know, right? As long as Tyrus Thomas and Luol Deng remain on the Bulls, my hopes lie with Cutler.
atothex Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 Man, I'm a Houston fan. I just saw Morey begging Marcin Gortat to come be their starting center. As for Cutler, I liked him before the whole fiasco, but now he's just a whiney diabetic who's not even good as Rivers. Maybe if Brandon Marshall signs with the Bears, I'll get on that bandwagon, but as of now, I don't see them doing much next season.

Maybe if Brandon Marshall signs with the Bears, I'll get on that bandwagon, but as of now, I don't see them doing much next season. Whiny diabetic or not, he's the closest thing the Bears have had to a real QB since Sid Luckman, so the giddiness of Bears fans is understandable, even if it's unwarranted. If the Bears stink, it will be (IMO) because the D. Urlacher was pretty mediocre after neck surgery, Mike Brown is gone, and Peanut is playing out of position. In that sense, Tommie Harris is more important than Cutler.
Aimless1 Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 I really feel for you guys Lifelong Lion fan. Lions = FAIL. The best I can ever hope for is mediocrity. As long as William Clay Ford owns the team the Lions will never be a top team. Doubt I'll have to eat those words, and I'll be all too happy to if I'm proven wrong.
penger Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 Well after a few more drafts you guys might get better.
terriblepaulz Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 Well after a few more drafts you guys might get better. As long as Matt Millen isn't making those picks (although given Jerry Angelo's early round picks, I shouldn't crow).
