Voltron Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 No, guys, it wasn't meant to be me making the oops. I already have a pair of PS-1s recabled with the demonic Stefan Audio Arts Equinox! I meant it as Nate had suggested that somebody screwed up and expected that number to go way up. Maybe they are thrilled, and maybe it was an oops.
mypasswordis Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 There's already another pair of PS1 on ebay. Pretty commonly found for a super rare headphone.
grawk Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 those were up last week. And nothing like current prices to bring ot pairs that arent' appreciated by their current owners
Voltron Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 There's already another pair of PS1 on ebay. Pretty commonly found for a super rare headphone. Name one other headphone with run of 250 pairs or less.
Duggeh Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 I'd wager that theres less than 250 H2s. How many Edition 7 did Ultrasone manage to shift?
Voltron Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 I'd wager that theres less than 250 H2s. How many Edition 7 did Ultrasone manage to shift? Sorry Duggeh, I should have said how many sought-after, desirable cans were limited to 250 pairs or less by design.
mypasswordis Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 That's my point. I don't see so many of the other high end limited production headphones popping up for sale all of a sudden and there are more of them out there. grawk is probably right about why so many are coming up.
Icarium Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 Sorry Duggeh, I should have said how many sought-after, desirable cans were limited to 250 pairs or less by design. Damn I can't even claim that with Qualias HE90s almost come close but overshoot by nearly a 100.
MrSlacker Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 goddamn i am happy that i stopped at $3K that would have been a HUGE ooops for me
Voltron Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 John Grado's personal stockpile accounts for most of the recent activity and the new tag-along pair is from Germany where the bulk of the non-HF and not necessarily headphone obsessed owners are located because it was where most original sales took place.
Voltron Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 goddamn i am happy that i stopped at $3K that would have been a HUGE ooops for me See, fucking around with bids to pump up prices while thinking you are safe is both stupid and dangerous you fucking slacker.
mypasswordis Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 That's true, most of them were from Grado's personal collection. Yeah, it's quite annoying for people who actually want the headphones when others start bidding it up for no good reason, with no intention of buying in the first place. Drives up prices unnecessarily and then poor people like me are left in the dust.
MrSlacker Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 See, fucking around with bids to pump up prices while thinking you are safe is both stupid and dangerous you fucking slacker. lol so true
Duggeh Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 Sorry Duggeh, I should have said how many sought-after, desirable cans were limited to 250 pairs or less by design. Touche sir.
Knuckledragger Posted January 25, 2009 Author Report Posted January 25, 2009 $1,625 with 4:20 left. Someone page HighLife.
Mercuttio Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 This seems like it's getting a little crazy. I'm honestly shocked it's gone this high.
Knuckledragger Posted January 26, 2009 Author Report Posted January 26, 2009 3 grand with 7 minutes left.
Mercuttio Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 3 grand with 7 minutes left. CHRIST. And not the one in my avatar. Who the hell is bidding on this thing? I mean, the PS1 is nice, sure, but fuck... not exactly an R10 is it?
Knuckledragger Posted January 26, 2009 Author Report Posted January 26, 2009 $3,155.00. Wasn't that more than the last pair of Grado NOS ones brought?
n_maher Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 $3,155.00. Wasn't that more than the last pair of Grado NOS ones brought? Yup, by ~$100. Perhaps the ebay hunters are sick of the "this is the last one from Joe's collection" nonsense.
grawk Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 I think it was probably that the nature of the bids on the JG one were that it looked like the bids were prepared to go way higher, so people bowed out.
