MrSlacker
So my ER-6i broke for the 3rd fucking time and I have had enough! I am looking for some IEMs to use on the train unamped. Budget is around $100-$150 because I honestly don't really care how good my music sounds when I am in NYC metro... My 6i lacked a bit of bass, but other than that, they got the job done. IEMs is something I would prefer to buy new, so keep that in mind. Looking for any suggestions and ideas. Thanks
jinp6301
Head Direct RE-02 best IEM at that price imo.

elnero
If you don't really care how they sound then why bother asking just go to your nearest big box store and pick up some cheap piece of crap.
Chekhonte
I picked up a pair of JVC marshmallows to tide me over until my shure e5c's come back from repair. They suck as far a sond quality goes but they have a good seal and can be found for 15 dollars on sale at circuit city some times.
n_maher
I know you said you didn't want used, but I'd suggest trying to find a deal on a pair of ER4Ps or see if you can't find someone selling some IM716s.
JBLoudG20
I have an im716 I'll get rid of. $125. Remember its discontinued
laxx
I got an extra unopened set I picked up if you want them. Let me know. I'm reading up on all the new custom IEM's that are <$400 and am probably going to buy a pair soon and use the current im716's I'm using as backup. Hopstretch
Bumping this, my ER-6is have also bitten the dust. I'm not too sad, as I always found them a bit jangly -- for lack of a better word -- though they fit my ears very well with tri-tips. I understand the ER-4ps are a little smoother and bassier and was thinking of picking up a pair. Is there anything else out there in the same general price range that by consensus is a better buy? Guess I'm mostly thinking about the Super.fi 5s or Sleek SA6s. These are my walking the dog/knocking around town phones and are used straight out of an iPhone. jinp6301
The superfi 5s are a step down from the Sleeks imo.
darkless
The superfi 5s are a step down from the Sleeks imo. Damnit, not what I needed to hear. I currently own the super.fi 5 pros, but I've been eyeing the Sleeks for a while and I've decided not to purchase them until they release their wireless stuff. elnero
It looks like Sleek's wireless stuff is going to be available next week, at least that's what it looks like according to soundearphones.com's website.
