lostonetr
I was at mitsuwa once, and a pack of kids rolled in. One was like "look guys it's the naruto ramen!" All I could do was smile and look at my friend who watches that show. I still haven't quite developed a taste for cold soba. Maybe I need to try it at a few other places. Or I could just vastly prefer chinese style cold noodles.

zippy2001
Okay, I went to Santouka on sunday and had a large bowl of the shio ramen. It really hit the spot The roast pork does just melt in your mouth. I do like the spicy miso ramen at Shinsengumi, yummy.

Edwood
Everything closes down so early in the South Bay of LA. But in Torrance, there is a Japanese Diner that is open until 3am. But it's their Ramen and Mabodon Lunch special I like the most. It's affordable and tasty. Although, my wife is embarassed to go there now, because we were eating lunch there when her water broke. -Ed

lostonetr
@zippy2001: ever hit up ebisu ramen for their lunch specials? Very standard fare, but a lot of food for $8.
lostonetr
ah. sorry to do this. Anyone hit up foo foo tei or tamaya in hacienda heights before? Wanted to enlist your opinions. Yelp ain't exactly always trustworthy. I know this place ain't gonna be better than santouka, but Irvine's far, wondering if these places are good enough. Hey, it's not a major purchase, it's just a bowl of ramen. Just go give them a try. If you like either one, great, you've found a nearby place to get ramen. If not, at least you know to keep looking. Actually, you should keep looking anyway. It's always fun to find a new place.
