PFKMan23 Posted September 1, 2008 Report Posted September 1, 2008 Way better build quality than that other mod company. Should last as long as the player. Way too many mod companies, which one?
n_maher Posted September 1, 2008 Report Posted September 1, 2008 Way too many mod companies, which one? I'm pretty sure that Kevin is referring to Todd's other player.
tkam Posted September 1, 2008 Author Report Posted September 1, 2008 Yeah I assume KG is referring to my apl 3910 in which case I agree the build quality of the actual mods is of much higher quality on the modwright.
Augsburger Posted September 1, 2008 Report Posted September 1, 2008 Nice impressions Todd, please keep them coming, sounds like a real winner. Hmmmmm, maybe I need to track one down for a comparo.
penger Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 How's the build of the actual transport (solid/flimsy/other)? I remember reading/seeing that MW did some dampening to the transport and maybe some other mods.
tkam Posted September 11, 2008 Author Report Posted September 11, 2008 For Sony it's actually pretty solid you can see the dampening MW adds in this pic: I've got no idea what those silver little blocks are but that's the only dampening going on that I can see.
penger Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 Nice. Now I'm wondering if MW is going to tackle that new Sony ES player they showed at CEDIA.
tkam Posted September 11, 2008 Author Report Posted September 11, 2008 Nice. Now I'm wondering if MW is going to tackle that new Sony ES player they showed at CEDIA. I kinda doubt it, outside of the modded Transporter most of Dan's focus is on his own line of gear.
penger Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 Good point. He has been focusing on his own product line.
tom_hankins Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 Gongrats on the Modwright. I have owned two on different occasions and enjoyed them alot. For a large and positive improvment on the player(although costly) try either the Bedix 6900 or GE7044 tubes.
Looser101 Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 looks just like the weights one received in the box for pine wood derby car kits. They look like stick-on wheel weights. Here's an example:
guzziguy Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 I think so too. They are mostly used for balancing wheels after installing new tires. The Modwright definitely is the most interesting use I've ever seen made of them.
