ingwe
Pop/Rock/Metal music being the way it is these days has played a large part in my transition to almost all jazz. Its just in another realm of quality. I've got to a point where if I turn on the rock radio on my way to work, I just laugh. Exactly (except for Tool--a *great* band). I'm listening to lots of symphonic and classical music as well. There's also great "world" music out there too (very old, old, and contemporary). Dusty Chalk
That's funny, because seeing them on SNL made me buy their album...with which I was thoroughly underwhelmed. Hot Chip is much better (music-wise, not production) -- more variety, etc. But I've been rather underwhelmed with the whole alternative music scene lately, so just ignore these ramblings of a jaded old man. And by radio, I presume y'all are discussing broadcast radio, because there's a lot of good stuff on Sirius/XM, the few times I've heard it.
