Beefy Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 and was wondering if anyone had any other recommendations for ingredients that would add that flavor. MSG is the big one. But realistically, MSG is usually used as a cheap replacement for oyster sauce. Use oyster sauce in stir fries, asian curries etc for a good dose of umame.
