Yamamoto HA-02 Schematics: calling Dr. Gilmore

Does anyone have an idea what's under the hood of the fabled AT amp? I'm giving thought to taking a stab at the amp.

Any help would be appreciated.

The amp isn't an Audio Technica.

And why this particular amp? I don't think anyone that has heard higher end amps thought this one was anything special.

I know its not AT, but its said to be a great match.

Why this amp? It sure seems pretty simple. And I'm curious.

This amp isn't merely eye candy as some of you probably think. It does sound really great with audio technica headphones as JP has confirmed at our meet. There are better deals at the sub 1k range but + ATs it pulls its weight in spades.

i usually can draw a schematic from very little, but this is below that limit :D

Its a single ended single tetrode tube per channel with transformer output.

Duplication would require the same output transformers...

It's not bad with (bassy) R10's either - even though I've been "stuck" using it for the past year, it serves very well until I eventually get something better.

I didn't realize that it had such big caps in it... I guess I haven't even heard its full potential yet. Maybe after another 10,000 hrs of burn in I'll actually begin to get a feel for what this amp's full potential is... *LOLS*
