ilikebananafudge Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 So I just bought a headphiled SR225 and the dumb bum who had it done had it terminated to 1/8, so now I need an adapter. I know Grado makes a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter cable, but who makes the reverse? And does it really matter about what company I buy from? Thanks in advance!
grawk Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 there's no harm in using a solid body 1/8 to 1/4" adapter. The other way increases strain, but smaller to bigger is fine.
Dusty Chalk Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 ...who makes the reverse?Radio Shack, for one. And does it really matter about what company I buy from?Yes, don't buy it from Radio Shack. J/K...

Dusty Chalk Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 Well... It's not like there isn't eleventy Brazilian options there... And if you have to ask whether or not there's any sonic impact, just splice on a new connector -- that way, you can stop worrying about it. Your worry will have more sonic impact.
lostonetr Posted August 10, 2008 Report Posted August 10, 2008 Splicing on seems like a good way to go, gets rid of any worry. Sucks that they didn't mention it pre-sale.
Dusty Chalk Posted August 10, 2008 Report Posted August 10, 2008 I actually had a guy not know that he sold me a 1/8" connector on a Sennheiser cable with a 1/4" adapter. He thought it had a 1/4".
