Thanks for the notice, Jack. He had just played at the Jazz Showcase-a great historical Chicago jazz venue. Rasann Roland Kirk and Sun Ra used to tear it up there in the late '60s. A guy name Joe Segal owned it. I didn't even know it was still around. There really were some great Chicago jazz legends. Johnny Griffin among them. Everybody dies but loosing artists always seems such a strike at life.
