Knuckledragger Posted November 19, 2010 Author Report Posted November 19, 2010 Yes, I realize that. My point was that the D700 and D3 have the same sensor.
Knuckledragger Posted November 20, 2010 Author Report Posted November 20, 2010 The Rollei "80 year edition." Yours for 25,000 Euros or so.
Salt Peanuts Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 The Rollei "80 year edition." Yours for 25,000 Euros or so. At least you get three of them for the price.
Knuckledragger Posted November 21, 2010 Author Report Posted November 21, 2010 A bargain, to be sure. I owned a Rollei TLR for a short while. It was a mid-1950s Rolleicord (the "cheap" line) and it was in dire need of CLA-ing (Cleaning, Lubricating, Adjustment). I traded it for an Canon EF 50mm F/1.8 Mk I. The original model that has a metal lens mount and a distance window. It looks nearly identical to the 35mm F/2. I do have vague plans in the future to get another TLR. One that actually works. As sexy as Rolleis are, I will probably get a Seagull or maybe one of those 1970s Mamiyas with swappable glass(!) Don't hold yr breath on any of that.

Knuckledragger Posted November 23, 2010 Author Report Posted November 23, 2010 This is what has been eating my life for the last year: The "MV house" I'm calling it. It's built on the location where my grandparent's retirement cottage sat for 52 years. It's a one story house, but the attic has enough room for second floor. My grandfather's work shop "the Doghouse" which has survived the surrounding chaos. This shot doesn't really show much of the new house, but I was having fun goofing around with infrared (what else is new?)
Asr Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 Pics taken with the Canon S90. Many more pics on a DSLR which I also took with me, but not on this particular walk. Times Square wannabe Power Rangers in front of the NY Public Library

VPI Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 In the process of trying out Zenfolio and Smugmug to see if i can get rid of Photobucket at its softening of images. Any of you guys using either of these?
Knuckledragger Posted November 25, 2010 Author Report Posted November 25, 2010 Smugmug is probably the best.
Salt Peanuts Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 I've started using Smugmug recently and I'm liking it so far (coming from flickr).
Salt Peanuts Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 I forgot, Smugmug does sharpen your photos when displaying them on different size from the original (they don't touch the original). You can turn this feature off.
VPI Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Thanks guys. I like Smugmug a lot compared to Photobucket so far.

VPI Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 Looks pretty chilly there Al. I spent the afternoon at the Fort Worth Zoo. This is a really nice zoo.
jpelg Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 I spent the afternoon at the Fort Worth Zoo. This is a really nice zoo. Nice. Will have to take my nieces & nephew there the next time I'm in Dallas.
VPI Posted November 30, 2010 Report Posted November 30, 2010 It is the best of the Zoos I have been to so far. I am really liking Smugmug so far. I have set up a pro account and bought a domain name to match to make it look more official. I don't intend to sell any but I really just wanted to go through the process of setting it up. I set up Vinylspinner Photography Some more from the Zoo.
Knuckledragger Posted November 30, 2010 Author Report Posted November 30, 2010 Damn, dude. That might be the best pic you've posted ...ever.
penger Posted November 30, 2010 Report Posted November 30, 2010 Why is one side of its face pink? Sunset?
