blessingx Posted July 9, 2013 Report Posted July 9, 2013 (edited) Is that Canon or Amazon's "frustration free" packaging? Edited July 9, 2013 by blessingx Quote
Salt Peanuts Posted July 9, 2013 Report Posted July 9, 2013 While I know the box doesn't say refurb, that's very similar to how Canon packages their refurb products. Quote
VPI Posted July 9, 2013 Report Posted July 9, 2013 Even refurb products come with warranty papers, etc. for the short warranty. I would assume anything new would come with warranty and some minimal advertising blurb or something. Quote
VPI Posted July 9, 2013 Report Posted July 9, 2013 I think if I got the custom case for this setup it might be about pocketable though the little S100 will probably remain as my preferred little camera. Quote
Salt Peanuts Posted July 9, 2013 Report Posted July 9, 2013 (edited) I'm guessing Amazon sent you an open box lens. Edited July 9, 2013 by Salt Peanuts Quote
Voltron Posted July 9, 2013 Report Posted July 9, 2013 I'm guessing Amazon has some 'splainin to do. Quote

Nebby Posted July 11, 2013 Report Posted July 11, 2013 I ended up picking up a UD35 and I can definitely see this bag weighing a ton if it's fully crammed with gear. It's deceptively small looking for what it can hold! 1 Quote
blessingx Posted July 11, 2013 Report Posted July 11, 2013 (edited) I guess this is the way new Canon EOS-M lenses ship? Nothing in the plain white box but the lens in bubble wrap. blessingx Posted July 13, 2013 Report Posted July 13, 2013 (edited) 22mm kit arrived yesterday. First tests (with Intelligent Auto, JPEG). Cropped in PS, but otherwise straight from camera. Focus still slow (updated firmware, spot, continuous disabled), but early impressions are IQ is decent. So far very happy. Edited July 13, 2013 by blessingx Quote
Jon L Posted July 13, 2013 Report Posted July 13, 2013 Wow, I didn't realize the EF-M 22 mm had such short minimum focus distance with 1:2 magnification, on par with such "pseudo Macro" lenses like Zeiss 50 mm f/2 "Makro." Here's hoping B&H ships my backordered EOS-M with 22 mm as soon as possible. I would love to feed the RAW's through Nik Silver efex and Color efex. Quote

crappyjones123 Posted July 17, 2013 Report Posted July 17, 2013 This view presented itself as I walked out of my evening class tonight. I luckily grabbed a couple of quick shots because it was gone by the time I went to the balcony on the 4th floor. Nothing technically or compositionally amazing about it. Just thought it was a beautiful sky. The original - A couple of edits - Quote

MexicanDragon Posted July 19, 2013 Report Posted July 19, 2013 (edited) New Magic Lantern Improvement Adds 3 Stops of Dynamic Range to 5DIII and 7D Some interesting stuff for a couple of cameras that have "Dual ISO" processors, I believe. I have a buddy who is geeking out about it and thinking about putting ML on his 5D3. You shoot half the lines in ISO100, half in ISO1600 (at the same time), and it makes a composite which can be nice. Each of these cams can do it with stills, but the 5D3 can do it with video as well. Lots of links to technical stuff in the link above. **BRENT** Edited July 19, 2013 by MexicanDragon Quote
