en480c4 Posted September 24, 2012 Report Posted September 24, 2012 It really was pretty awesome. There were also cars to climb over and tires to run through. And lots and lots of mud!
morphsci Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 (edited) That's pretty cool Ian. My wife and her sister did the Hell Run in Chicago at the beginning of the month. The Warrior Dash looks very similar. The question is did Coolio make an appearance at the Warrior Dash? Edited September 25, 2012 by morphsci
The Monkey Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 Tough, strong, cute, hot women ftw.

n_maher Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 It has been effing cold the past couple of mornings (low 30's) and in some of the large field near my house this has caused a cool low-fog phenomenon. Some of the fog/mist is frozen on the grass.. I caught a quick cell phone picture of it yesterday morning. This is about a mile from my house and it's not uncommon to see 100 or so cows in the far pasture. (taken w/ Galaxy S III in sunrise mode) 2
crappyjones123 Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 Lovely picture Nate. Reminds me of my hometown in India. It was up in the mountains but from the right spot and early enough you stick your head above the clouds or sometimes actually see fog roll down the mountain side or be really low to the ground like in your picture.
jp11801 Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 any photographers with photo editing skills willing to assist? Mike, Raffy and I recently did a ride in NYC and the photo at the finish taken by a "pro" came out washed out, is there any hope to enhance this? I know you can't fix ugly but how about the light? The photo is a 5mb jpeg
c12mech Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 Wish I could help but I just started trying to figure out the editing process. I did get a new Manfrotto tripod and Gitzo head at a Ritz camera that is going out of business. I got both for less than the cost of the head by itself. Seemed like a good deal to me.
n_maher Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 John,Here's a quick hack at it with very limited tools at work.
crappyjones123 Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 not a pro but i took a quick crack at it...if you have the raw file, i could play with white balance as well but with the jpeg you posted this is what i could do. 1

MexicanDragon Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 Mike... the internets is scary. I clicked on that picture. The next time I checked facebook, I had an ad for a Gators cycling jersey. I figured you'd enjoy that. **BRENT**
Knuckledragger Posted September 26, 2012 Author Report Posted September 26, 2012 /me looks at Ari's photo. Damn, what was in that cigar I just smoked.
c12mech Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 I too am a new Lightroom convert. I downloaded the trial a couple of nights ago and am still figuring it out but it has made a big difference in my pictures. Between that and the tripod and head I bought it's like a whole new person taking the pictures.

c12mech Posted October 1, 2012 Report Posted October 1, 2012 I rented a Canon 24-105 f4L lens for my vacation to try it out. I had it yesterday at my brothers house and since it was raining I just shot inside mostly. I must say I do not think that any of the pictures were bad. I was just shooting candid shots of him and his wife and kids and almost every shot looked great even with no post work at all. I may have to save up and buy one of these lenses now. I will be in the mountains next week and plan a visit to Biltmore Estate. Hoping to get some good architectural shots of the house and gardens.
forbigger Posted October 1, 2012 Report Posted October 1, 2012 I think you can pretty much find 24-105L at relatively bargain price since lots of people bought 5dmk2 bundled with it. And some if not most of those people are upgrading and they are looking to unload the lens and make some money to recoup some of the purchase of the camera body
