n_maher Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 So Dusty's post about Whedon's upcoming online musical reminded me that I'd yet to track down the trailer for Dollhouse. I'm pretty psyched for the show so I figured I'd start a thread and post the trailer for comment. Dollhouse Trailer [edit]I guess embedded videos don't show up in the post preview.
thrice Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 not to bump an old thread, but it was still on page one here. Tomorrow night is the premiere of Dollhouse... very psyched... Friday the 13th too...crazy.
en480c4 Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 I'll be away tonight, but will promptly DL it when I return!
thrice Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 The DVR is ready for action! Seriously, between that and BSG, it's gonna be a great night of TV tonight.
riceboy Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Seriously, between that and BSG, it's gonna be a great night of TV tonight. Thanks for bumping up this old thread Stephen. I almost forgot about this. The DVR will be ready as well like Nate. Can't wait for BSG too
JBLoudG20 Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Seriously, between that and BSG, it's gonna be a great night of TV tonight. NERD ALERT
thrice Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Thanks for bumping up this old thread Stephen. I almost forgot about this. The DVR will be ready as well like Nate. Can't wait for BSG too I had it scheduled on my calendar with multiple alerts as the day approached. I wasn't going to miss this. NERD ALERT Geek alert, please. And hey, no one involved in a "High End Headphone" hobby gets to throw that stone
n_maher Posted February 13, 2009 Author Report Posted February 13, 2009 And hey, no one involved in a "High End Headphone" hobby gets to throw that stone He's not in the high end headphone hobby any more, he's strictly low end speakers.
thrice Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 He's not in the high end headphone hobby any more, he's strictly low end speakers. Oh, so like Sony and Insignia.... stuff like that? Huh. I see.

JBLoudG20 Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Oh, so like Sony and Insignia.... stuff like that? Huh. I see. Mostly the builtin MBP ones. They rawk.
thrice Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Mostly the builtin MBP ones. They rawk. If you turn them up real loud you can get a tinny rattle much like what early rock guitarists did to get distortion and that fuzz sound.
JBLoudG20 Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 If you turn them up real loud you can get a tinny rattle much like what early rock guitarists did to get distortion and that fuzz sound. Ah shit. Now THAT'S some faithful reproduction. *grumbles some joke about sex*
Salt Peanuts Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Thanks for the reminder, Stephen! I had completely forgotten about this.
thrice Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 Pretty good start. I guess we'll see where it goes from here.
thrice Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 There's this woman named Dollhouse and she did things. And then this family really likes Lean Cuisine and I dozed off for a moment and then Leno was talking to Alias.
Edwood Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 Watched it. Meh. Hopefully it gets better. But then Fox will kill it by putting it up against a #1 show.
Dusty Chalk Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 spoiler and i kill you.I think you and I are going to have to stop reading this thread, or we're going to have to start a Dollhouse with spoilers thread so that I can not read it. This is going to be a show that people are going to stay on top of.
NightWoundsTime Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 I agree that the show was a bit "meh" but the writing was quite impressive. Probably a few casting mistakes in there, especially bringing Hilo over from BSG. With the later Edward James Olmos reference it's clear that Whedon is a big BSG fan.
thrice Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 I think it has a lot of potential. He lays down a framework for a much larger story to take place. I don't think this is going to be a show where you get pulled in instantly off the first episode.

Not only that, but he has professional ties to BSG. Jane Espenson is an executive producer for BSG and she also worked with Whedon on Buffy, Firefly and Angel (mostly Buffy).
NightWoundsTime Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 Ok Steven, you've definitely earned your geek title with that one. Congrats.
thrice Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 Fred indeed.... Amy Acker is only going to make it better
n_maher Posted February 15, 2009 Author Report Posted February 15, 2009 I dunno, for a first episode I thought it did well. Heck, it's already better than any Sarah Conor episode I saw in the first two seasons of that train wreck. I give it 3 out of 4 "Grrr, Arrrgs".
