laxx Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 Mine cut out after 2 months of use. I use them with my iPhone and it goes in my front right pocket 5 days a week. I wish they came with a right angle plug.
grawk Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 right angle plugs are incompatible with 1st gen iphones tho, so it's not surprising they don't. You can buy right angle adapters, or just accept that when you're abusive to cables, you have to reterminate or replace them occassionally.

LarsMarkelson Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 4GB Sansa Clip+ on Woot for $25 shipped. Expands to 20GB with 16GB microSD. Was just about to post this. Great deal, consider it's $42 new on amazon. Rockbox is pretty stable nowadays on the Clip+ so that's nice too.

Who knows how long it'll last though - Amazon has variable pricing sometimes and this might be only 1 day (though it could be longer). Amazon.com: Adobe Photoshop CS5: Software
Nebby Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 If you are a student or have access to a .edu email address you can pick up Office professional 2010 for $80 or Windows 7 Professional upgrade for $30: Microsoft Office Professional Academic 2010
Beefy Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 If you are a student or have access to a .edu email address you can pick up Office professional 2010 for $80 or Windows 7 Professional upgrade for $30: Microsoft Office Professional Academic 2010 Oh man, I wonder if PDF's qualify? I work at a valid institution in Canada, but while PDF's are not employees, we're not technically students either......
Les_Garten Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Oh man, I wonder if PDF's qualify? I work at a valid institution in Canada, but while PDF's are not employees, we're not technically students either...... Personal Display of Frugality?
Beefy Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Post doctoral fellow, which does inherently require frugality.
Nebby Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 no .edu email address? Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G using Tapatalk
Beefy Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 (edited) My email address is valid, but while my status is similar to that of a grad student I am not technically a student, and cannot provide proof of enrollment if requested. Wonder what the chances are that they will check......? Edited June 16, 2010 by Beefy dig up, stupid
Les_Garten Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 My email address is valid, but while my status is similar to that of a grad student I am not technically a student, and cannot provide proof of enrollment if requested. Wonder what the chances are that they will check......? Chances are ZERO, IMO They are using edu addresses as verification. (You order with that email address) In the past, they didn't even do that. They just asked the name of the school.
jinp6301 Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Microsoft is pretty lenient. Apple/Adobe, from my experience, is not
grawk Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Apple, online, doesn't verify edu orders at all, even with an email.
Nebby Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 My email address is valid, but while my status is similar to that of a grad student I am not technically a student, and cannot provide proof of enrollment if requested. Wonder what the chances are that they will check......? In my experience, they don't check. You enter your email, they send you an order link via email, you click thru link, order and you're done!
jinp6301 Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Apple, online, doesn't verify edu orders at all, even with an email. Hmm, this is for hardware purchases right? Because I had to fax them my proof of enrollment when I tried to buy Adobe Creative Suite CS3
grawk Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 That's probably an adobe requirement, not an apple one
jinp6301 Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Hmm, how much of a discount do you get for the student developer program?
Beefy Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Thanks folks, I might take the plunge. Going to Win7-64 is a good excuse to get that 4Gb RAM upgrade I've been hankering for as well
