n_maher Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 Got the email :( Lame. Do you expect them to restock so they can once again sell them at a loss? Get over it.
bperboy Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 Do you expect them to restock so they can once again sell them at a loss? Get over it. No.. just disappointed I didn't get the steal I thought I was.. it's not really that big a deal.
Fungi Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 And mine's cancelled too. I wonder how many they had stocked and how much they were selling normally.
swt61 Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 Do you expect them to restock so they can once again sell them at a loss? Get over it. No, not at all, but disappointment is a valid response when your order had been accepted and you thought you had a K601 on the way.
n_maher Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 No, not at all, but disappointment is a valid response when your order had been accepted and you thought you had a K601 on the way. Disappointment sure, but to say that they're lame for not honoring the order is kind of pushing the envelope since I haven't met another company that equals the service and support HR does.
bperboy Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 Now you're just arguing semantics... lame is just a word I use to express disappointment. Maybe it's just the grammatical failings of my college-age generation, but I don't retract my previous statement; HR should have had the foresight to prevent this from occurring. To me, it's pretty obvious that when you heavily discount a product like the k601s were, then you're going to sell quite a few; steps should have been taken to prevent more orders than they had supply for. This doesn't, by any means, mean I'm never going to order anything from HR ever again; far from it, I'm probably going to order some black olive foamies for my SE530s pretty soon here. I was just annoyed that I ordered a product and then found out they took way too many orders for the number of products they had in stock.
JBLoudG20 Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 Wah I want my toy back. Pony up, and stop complaining. This is how the holiday sales work. If you don't like dealing with it all (like me) pay a few extra bucks elsewhere.
aardvark baguette Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 If its obvious that they are going to sell, dont be surprised when they sell.
Knuckledragger Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 Blah blah blah. Today is "Cyber Monday." There are supposedly a lot of online deals to be had. Post some.
JBLoudG20 Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 I haven't been impressed by any super special deals today.
guzziguy Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 I agree. This has been a disappointing post Thanksgiving shopping season for me so far. We're waiting for the prices of the Samsung LN-40A650 to drop. So far, they haven't. In fact, one of my favorite stores actually raised their price a little. No big deal though. We're patient and the prices will come down soon enough. It's not like we desperately need this anyway.

aardvark baguette Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 Apple has free shipping on everything today
Tyll Hertsens Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 Sorry guys, we did sell more than we expected. We're working on an accounting system that will attach the web with the accounting and inventory systems to prevent this type of thing, but at the moment it's manual, and everybody was eating turkey while the site was getting hammered for K601 sales. Lame? Maybe. It's costing about $50,000 to upgrade our accounting software so it could easily be compared to a medical issue. Personally, I'd prefer, "fucking bummer" but it's your keyboard.
Sherwood Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 My personal moral compass allows me to steal anything produced or conceived of in Austria, so you're fine by me, Tyll.
Augsburger Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 I miss the Austria connection but having lived in Tyrol Austria I am a big fan of anything Austrian. FWIW
Hopstretch Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 VMWare Fusion is half off ($39.99) today only with the coupon code CyberMondayDeal. If you have a Mac and want/need to be able to run occasional Windows apps seamlessly inside OS X, this is a no-brainer.
Knuckledragger Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 Polk Monitor 50s $100 ea. w/ free shipping @ The 'Egg. Onkyo TXSR706B THX Select2 Plus 7.1 HT receiver $479 @ the 'Egg. They also have a 50" 1080p Panasonic Plasma TV for $1300, but I have no idea if that's a good value or not.

aardvark baguette Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 Apple iBook G4 Notebook - M9426LLA - Buy.com $329 Apple ibook. Assuming it works with the Apogee Duet,.... edit: wow sold out already. That was like 20 seconds. double edit: lol back in stock ?
tyrion Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 As long as it has a firewire port it will work with the Duet.
thrice Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 It should be noted that according to Apogee's Duet specs, you need at least a G4 with 1Ghz processor, so with that laptop, you're at the very minimum spec needed to use a Duet.
Dusty Chalk Posted December 2, 2008 Author Report Posted December 2, 2008 (edited) Dagnabit, it comes with Panther (10.3); Duet requires at least Tiger (10.4.10). So that's an additional $100 right there. Edited December 2, 2008 by Dusty Chalk
