n_maher Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 They all came with the standard warranty so I don't see why they'd fail any more frequently. Otherwise they just doubly screwed themselves.
jinp6301 Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 Looks like a good opportunity to go custom. Its not like I get to keep the broken pair.
Chekhonte Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 Do they still work? I'd fill those bitches with epoxy and call it a day. If they're built like the se530's the housing is arbitrary since the armature drivers are completely sealed by themselves. Filling them with epoxy wouldn't change how they sound and you could probably drive over them and they'd still work.
Augsburger Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 For you Drobo fanboys, seems like a decent deal- $129.99 after rebate hassels Hitachi Deskstar HD32000 IDK/7K Internal Hard Drive - 2TB, 7200RPM, 32MB, SATA-3G at TigerDirect.com
postjack Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 paging postjack hate to be a chooser but I'd really rather pay a little more and have it already in an external enclosure.

Nebby Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 external drives (usually) dont carry as long a warranty as internals. again, usually 1 yr vs 3-5 years Another reason I like Seagate: full 5 year warranty on all their retail drives internal and external.
