grawk Posted January 9, 2015 Report Posted January 9, 2015 I like it. It's not SUPER useful yet, but it's an easy way to listen to music etc casually, and makes a pretty kick ass alarm clock. I switched from apple match to amazon cloud play after getting my echo. It's basically a bluetooth speaker, with the amazon cloud shit thrown in for free.

grawk Posted January 9, 2015 Report Posted January 9, 2015 It's biggest use in our house to date is my 8 year old has it spell words for her when she's playing minecraft. I'm hoping it gets a lot more useful over the next year or so, and for a $100 christmas gift for my wife, if not, no real loss.

I gave a set to my son to use as rear channel speakers in the HT setup, and while not as good as the Epos ELS-3 that I gave him for his front channel they have great mids and transparency, and don't have that boxy sound that a lot of budget speakers have. They could use a little more sparkle, but I can't call them dark.
