Fairbanks Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 With the original K701 there were alot of people who had problems with the stock cord being pulled out and thus losing the connection. With the new K702 they provide have a detachable cable which fix's this problem.Just one of the differences. Also this is my first post as I've been hanging around on Head-fi for about two years now.

No shit? Really? Are you making this up?
Fairbanks Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 No shit? Really? Are you making this up? It happened to me and AKG fixed the problem and sent them back to me in two weeks time free of charge as my warranty was in place.
Fungi Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 The mini XLR thing locks in and isn't exactly the xbox detachable cord thing. But it is easier to replace.

Fairbanks Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 What? You want a picture of my fixed K701.
JBLoudG20 Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 Broken. I cannot possibly imagine that the wires would in any way break, and becuase of that AKG would release a new version with a removeable cable to that supposedly you can fix it yourself.

Look,I lost sound in the left channel and sent them in to be fixed. Also this connection theory is just that a theory.I think I've said enough for one night.
n_maher Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 BURN! Congrats on taking 27 hours to notice.
wrecked_porsche Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 Hmmmm.... True, to a certain extent...
wrecked_porsche Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 "Geez, too bad that liver NEVER came and you had to die huh? Could have been better if it had arrived at the last minute instead. Oh well... "
wrecked_porsche Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 Depends how you define "late", Mr. Jacob San. LATE We're both right. Cheers to that , enjoy this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtPdzr5omIo
Eric5676 Posted September 21, 2008 Report Posted September 21, 2008 I'll be very surprised if these 702s sound any different from the 701s.
aRc Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 I'll be very surprised if these 702s sound any different from the 701s. They don't..won't and couldn't...no changes mentioned to driver or housing.
Fungi Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 One might argue that 1) detachable cable adds unnecessary contact points 2) 3 conductor cable is inferior to 4 conductor 3) different paint affects housing resonance
