tkam Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 Yay! Looking forward to my 15/2 package being bumped up to 20/5 sometime next week. Quote
n_maher Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 I wish they'd run lines out to my house. I so hate having no choice but comcast... Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 I really need to look at upgrading to unthrottled FIOS. Quote
aardvark baguette Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 I wish my family would get it. I'm not worried about download speed, I need upload speed. Its absolutely abysmal with Comcast. I had to quit Mozy because of it. Sumbitches. Quote
tkam Posted June 18, 2008 Author Report Posted June 18, 2008 I know Comcast has a 16/2 service, but it might only be available in areas where they have to compete with FiOS Quote
riceboy Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 Yay! Looking forward to my 15/2 package being bumped up to 20/5 sometime next week. Wow. That is great news for you. Thanks for the info Quote
CD44hi Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 whoo hoo! I have the same package, now I should find out what to do with all the band width Quote
laxx Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 I have the 5/2 package, which is auto bumped to 10/2 in NY. I really want the 20/5 package though. Quote

Sumbitches. This is what we currently have, before the shakeup:5/2 $42.99 currently have (slowest) 15/2 $74.95 w/ 2 yr bundled commitment 15/15 $84.95 w/ 2 yr bundled commitment 30/15 $155.00 no bundled commitment deal...I have a feeling it will become something like:10/2 $42.99+ currently have (slowest) 20/5 $74.95+ w/ 2 yr bundled commitment 20/20 $84.95+ w/ 2 yr bundled commitment 50/20 $155.00+ no bundled commitment dealI'm tempted to take it up to 20/20, but there's no way I'm paying for 50/20. Heck, even if I don't do anything, I should get throttled down to half as bad as previously. That's still pretty good. Quote
Augsburger Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 Yay! Looking forward to my 15/2 package being bumped up to 20/5 sometime next week. Sigh. Still waiting, I know some Verizon managers who told me about this four years ago and an announcement seven months ago that it was coming to the LA area, yeah right. NY already gets 10/2 for the slowest package, 15/2 is $52.99. 50/20 is $84.99 or something. Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 Yeah, snot cheap.Aardvark, how old are you?I think he's 17. Aye keed, aye keed. Quote

Dusty Chalk Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 9No, he has a job, so he has to be at least 16. Quote

aardvark baguette Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 Aardvark, how old are you? 25. Born 12/30/82. And yes, I know I'm a mooch for still living at home. But it does allow for some nice discretionary income for Amazon edit: not sure what speed internet we have. Slow and slower would be an accurate description. Quote
JBLoudG20 Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 Dude, 25, get out the house man! I wont say anyhting cause I'll be moving out when I am 25. Gotta wait for the woman to gradiate so I can afford that mansion and a yacht. Or so I can afford my student loan payments and a mortgage payment. Rent is Quote
JBLoudG20 Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 I moved out at 16. I guess I could move out now, but that would mean no savings. I figure: I knwo my g/f (fiance in about 4 months) and I will be living together when she finishes her masters next may. I don't know where she is working yet. So I might as well wait so we can pick a place together. That leaves me with a year to kill to either a) get my own place, or save half my pay. Saving seems to make sense to me. Quote
grawk Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 I'm just jealous I couldn't handle being at home, I needed my independence. Quote

My girlfriend's finishing up her Master's next year and depending on where she works is where we'll live. I still live at home, but I pay my parents a decent amount for rent. Quote
