tiberian Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 finally scrounged up enough money to replace the running springs haley PLC i sold 18 months ago. i was pleasantly surprised by the improvement in sound quality. the music has become much more full-bodied, and the bass has become really punchy. atmosphere's new album finally sounds right to my ears . pics: link to manufacturer
xand1x Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 Congrats man, looks like a pretty serious conditioner.
ojnihs Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 looks really nice, how much did that run you?
Knuckledragger Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 Nice pics. The first shot has a very "2001 monolith" feel to it.
Salt Peanuts Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 looks really nice, how much did that run you? I know it's not the same model, but for some reference, their 50 amp filter with 6 outlets retails for $2200 in US.
luvdunhill Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 don't suppose we can get internal pics probably void all kinds of warantees. I won't even say what little is in the Shunyata Hydra thingy... absolutely silly.

tiberian Posted June 16, 2008 Author Report Posted June 16, 2008 I know it's not the same model, but for some reference, their 50 amp filter with 6 outlets retails for $2200 in US. i got it for $472. the US importer of isoclean is quite a shark - the 80 amp models goes for $1250 in Hong Kong but $4200 in the US.

Is the "BS" an accident or not? \

I won't even say what little is in the Shunyata Hydra thingy... absolutely silly.i will get the internal pics eventually but you're right, it's probably quite empty inside. the copper/bronze chassis is quite massively overbuilt (and quite impressive) but i wish they sandblasted the surface instead. the mirror finish is unnecessarily loud for a hi-fi equipment.
tiberian Posted June 16, 2008 Author Report Posted June 16, 2008 I can't help but note the model number. Is the "BS" an accident or not? \ BS stands for British Standard
Knuckledragger Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 I should not find this as funny as I do.

I won't even say what little is in the Shunyata Hydra thingy... absolutely silly. Don't even mention that scam... Btw. Did any one of you hear about Russ Andrews in the UK (Kimber distributor)? He claimed some amazing improvements with his power gear but when he couldn't provide any measurements he was fined by the authorities... It was in the news section of a recent HFN.
