Knuckledragger Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 I, for one, welcome the new vBulletin software. In the last few weeks, the simple machines forum was making Fahrfox unhappy. I'd get random lockups and the "a script is making FFX run slow, stop the script?" popup dialog boxes. It also cuased FFX to chew through a gig of RAM at times. 0_o Currently, I'm not seeing any smilies, nor any bold/underline/italics etc. functions.
ojnihs Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 Excellent work Todd. snap, deepak is jpak again!
deepak Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 Just one question on PMs. Will they be increased over 50? I had around 500 messages pre-switch and it tells me I have 951 now snap, deepak is jpak again! Oh snap indeed
GPH Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 That was a fast and painless transition, good job tkam! I'll have to get used to the "head-fi-cation" of the site because I really liked the old interface, but I bet there's are good administrative reasons behind the switch.
GPH Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 I don't want to sound as whiny, but any way to put the user names on the left like on H-F? It gets confusing the way it is now and take way too much space on the top.
deepak Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 you should be good now pak Thanks Dan. I don't want to sound as whiny, but any way to put the user names on the left like on H-F? It gets confusing the way it is now and take way too much space on the top. It's just the temporary theme for now. More might be added.
tkam Posted June 13, 2008 Author Report Posted June 13, 2008 new frontpage has been added: Head-Case.org direct link to the forums: www.Head-Case.org - Powered by vBulletin
deepak Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 I know we're still in the infancy stages of the new software, but vBull rocks! The new moderation features look really slick.
ojnihs Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 I know we're still in the infancy stages of the new software, but vBull rocks! The new moderation features look really slick. how bouts you fork some of those moderation privileges to me so i can check out those slick feature as well?
tkam Posted June 13, 2008 Author Report Posted June 13, 2008 Currently, I'm not seeing any smilies, nor any bold/underline/italics etc. functions. That function is set under your user cp -> edit options -> message editor interface. If it's set to basic that's why you can't see them, choose one of the other options.
Knuckledragger Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 That function is set under your user cp -> edit options -> message editor interface. If it's set to basic that's why you can't see them, choose one of the other options. Thanks, I stumbled upon it shortly after posting that, found it after carefully searching for it. ... I am sad about the lack of strikeout. Its absence ruins my self-deprecating humor.
elnero Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 I think it ate all the non-mod/admin custom titles. The admins giveth, the admins taketh away.
laxx Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 One thing I'd like is to have "Mark All as Read" button on the New Posts page. That's one thing I loved about SMF forums.
tkam Posted June 13, 2008 Author Report Posted June 13, 2008 removed the minimum character post restriction, you should be able to make 1 character posts now

Fitz Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 I think it ate all the non-mod/admin custom titles. I no longer have my MOTMOTMOTMOTMOTMOTMOTMOT status, guess I'm an ordinary DIYer now. :-/
hYdrociTy Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 I hope this is all some sick Friday the 13th joke >_<
