naamanf Posted June 10, 2008 Author Report Posted June 10, 2008 If the deeps loose that horrible bottom end of the regulars they could be okay. But being the best headphone under $2000? please.
riceboy Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 If the deeps loose that horrible bottom end of the regulars they could be okay. But being the best headphone under $2000? please. Hey Naamanf. First off the work on the B22 that you made for ASR is beautiful. Secondly, the bottom end only improves a little and they do sound better, but in comparing better to the regular Darth's I guess that's not saying a much :shrugs:. I don't agree with the best phone for under $2000 as mentioned by Skylab as these ears have found better cans in that price range and well below the $2000 mark, but that's my opinion again .
Smeggy Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 Naamanf, what kind of speaker connectors does that B22 have because I sent a set of K1000s to ASR so he could have a play and he sent them back saying he couldn't connect them. That K1000 has bare wire at the ends (no plug).
naamanf Posted June 14, 2008 Author Report Posted June 14, 2008 It has binding post speaker connections on the back so it should have worked if he just plug it in that way.
Smeggy Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 That's what I thought. I said he could reterminate them if needed or just screw the wires into the posts, unless the posts are on opposite sides of the amp and he didn't want to pull the cord apart to reach. Oh well.
Knuckledragger Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 Late to the party, but with the somewhat huge caveat that I have never heard Darths (only stock 770s) I am willing to bet that the the TakeTs will completely pwn Darth Beyers in both bass impact and extension. I suspect the Darths have far more coloration sound, and it's quite possible that many will prefer this sound to the brutal analysis of the Fugs.
