tkam Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 Note to self: don't delete Gmail Head-Case PMs i would have been able to find it other ways but having the pm id made it about a 100 times faster
aardvark baguette Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 must have been; it was just text, no images or media content of any sort. Knowledge is power, lol.
tkam Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 not sure really, the db field size for the body of pm's has a limit of 16777215 characters and the pm wasn't that big. more likely the problem was related to the actual display of it. of course there isn't anything in the error logs though so i might never know what happened.
aardvark baguette Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 I'll note that the PM worked fine for me yesterday. I didnt notice anything until this morning. But your description makes sense.
tkam Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 well your pm was roughly 61000 characters which is still far short of the limit, though it's pretty ridiculous to send a 29 page pm .
aardvark baguette Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 True. ...Almost as ridiculous as going after everything on the list
luvdunhill Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 any sequences of -- or /* etc in the message?

NightWoundsTime Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Nerds... On the other hand that reminds me of when my friend played Diablo online (Or maybe it was Starcraft, something like that), and used to enjoy booting all the Koreans off the server by typing some random characters that their software couldn't interpret.
deepak Posted June 3, 2008 Author Report Posted June 3, 2008 Nerds... On the other hand that reminds me of when my friend played Diablo online (Or maybe it was Starcraft, something like that), and used to enjoy booting all the Koreans off the server by typing some random characters that their software couldn't interpret. There was a lag cheat in Diablo where you can lag people off the server after dropping mass amounts of gold on the floor in town (basically covering the entire town's surface in gold). They probably fixed it by now
The Monkey Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 Why does the Control Panel insist upon telling me that I have 5 new messages when, in fact, I do not?
aardvark baguette Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 i dunno, but i have 300 some odd "unread notifications". Old PMs migrated to new software = unread, apparently.
deepak Posted July 6, 2008 Author Report Posted July 6, 2008 I see this thread bumped, and I'm thinking uh oh aardvark is sending more people his OJC list
aardvark baguette Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 lol FWIW, the list is getting smaller
