grawk Posted May 28, 2008 Author Report Posted May 28, 2008 Colin also suggested the library at UMBC is available for a really good cost ($0)
tkam Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 Count me in as long as its not in the last week of july or first week in august.
aardvark baguette Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 UMBC library? Which section? I can't imagine that being optimal for a meet at all, to be honest. Unless its the special collections section, which would be very, very awesome.
aardvark baguette Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 I didnt realize they let outside groups use those for free. Not bad, I guess. I've been in a few on the second floor. A little cramped if theres more than a few people, but they may have bigger rooms.
aardvark baguette Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 Colin also suggested the library at UMBC is available for a really good cost ($0) Oh snap, does "colin" have/had orange hair and dreadlocks? I used to know a Colin that went to UMBC and my same high school.
Dusty Chalk Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 I'm in...for whenever, don't have any particular plans this far in advance, but "the weekend" would, of course, be preferable. Arundel Mills is fine -- some good shopping within walking distance. PS What "big minimeet"? The one in Leesburg that failed? I'm not sure I trust him (SK138) to run a meet. "Oops, I accidentally went to Manila..." (without telling anyone). EDIT: this one?
grawk Posted May 28, 2008 Author Report Posted May 28, 2008 Yah, that's why I was just going ahead, but august works better for me than june or july anyway
aardvark baguette Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 I've no idea if I can go or not. Probably won't know until July at the earliest. Consider me unreliable.
grawk Posted May 30, 2008 Author Report Posted May 30, 2008 So, I'm setting the date at August 2. Now to pick a location. BWI/Arundel Mills Residence Inn, a party room in Rockville, somewhere else? How many people are coming? How many would want a hotel room?
fierce_freak Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 Wish I could make it. I didn't really get a chance to get to know anybody at the last one I went to. Have fun guys!
grawk Posted June 16, 2008 Author Report Posted June 16, 2008 I'm putting together a roll call on the other site. If you talk to people who don't check in either place and might attend, let me know. Trying to decide if we're going to do this at Stevieo's house, a party room in rockville, or arundel mills. grawk - coming - balanced m3, modded dvd-2900, mac mini rig w/ duet, balanced hd580, balanced woodied hf1, maybe balanced hd650 stevieo tyrion jp#s cetoole thrice - maybe boomana - maybe tkam - Stax Omega II MKII, Headamp KGSS, APL Philips SACD1000, Northstar M192 MKII dreadhead scompton daveDerek 04BluMach zachary80 - maybe sschell - maybe Dusty Chalk aardvark sandwich - maybe
boomana Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 I think Reks should come. I recall him saying something about it sometime ago, something about maybe....
Dusty Chalk Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 I vote for StevieO's house -- that way those of you who are staying there won't have to drink and drive.
grawk Posted June 16, 2008 Author Report Posted June 16, 2008 this meet will be about the gear The afterparty (and preparty) will be about the party
Dusty Chalk Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 It would also be amusing if StevieO's place was voted as the location without his necessarily approval. That said, I can be DD during the parties.
Dusty Chalk Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 It would have been amusing... Well, in my head, it was funny.
Voltron Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 I'm on vacation that week in Montana and Wyoming so I don't have any chance at all to make the meet. Sorry to miss out. :'(
Voltron Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 You don't get excused that easily. I'm still interested in that other idea you had at CJ08.
grawk Posted June 17, 2008 Author Report Posted June 17, 2008 That's still in the works. End of september
Voltron Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 Terrible timing for me, but I guess we'll see.
