Voltron Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 Sorry about your loose screw, and the one in the preamp too! Buh dum bump! Good luck with that. I had that disappointment recently but it's better to find out now than to fry the thing.
Knuckledragger Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 Sorry about your loose screw, and the one in the preamp too! Buh dum bump! Good luck with that. I had that disappointment recently but it's better to find out now than to fry the thing. Waitaminnit, is DOTU mocking me for having a loose screw* in one breath and then telling me the damage his loose screw caused with the next? You really are a lawyer. /me ducks After painful long minutes removing the umpteen screws from the top of the LS9, I got the panel off, and found ...a plastic fiddly bit floating around in there. Terrible picture, the Canon EF 17-40 F/4L is about the farthest thing from a macro lens. I don't think it would have shorted anything out, but I'm glad I got it out of there. Coming soon to a certain other thread: LS9 internal pix I had not intended on taking. *A fact that should be rather apparent at this point.
Fitz Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 Unfortunately, it rattles like there's a loose screw or component inside of it. I once received an amp for modding/servicing that had a loose screw inside it, except the thing was that all the screws were accounted for and still in place. That one left me
Hopstretch Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 almost as incompetent as the MobileMe roll out. That's unpossible.
grawk Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 drove 2 hrs each way to spend 45 minutes cleaning up a data center.
Fitz Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 Setup the ps3 WTF are you doing here then?
n_maher Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 WTF are you doing here then? I don't own any games yet.
n_maher Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 Fail. No time fail. Not going to download games either, don't trust HD and it'd take forever. Situation will be rectified asap.
Knuckledragger Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 You gonna get any movies on BluRay, Nate?
Beefy Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 I just accepted a postdoc research job in Halifax, Nova Scotia Now I'm off to a beer festival to drink myself into oblivion
The Monkey Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 No time fail. Not going to download games either, don't trust HD and it'd take forever. Situation will be rectified asap. What games are you getting? I can't play any of these damn new-fangled shoot 'em ups. Too fucking much going on. I like the sports stuff though...
riceboy Posted January 10, 2009 Author Report Posted January 10, 2009 what have i been doing? hitting refresh on the Windows 7 Beta page. this is some incompetent shit, on Microsoft's part. almost as incompetent as the MobileMe roll out. Hell I was doing that as well. They still have this on that webpage I saw this come up about 14 hours ago and it is still going. Thanks for your interest in the Windows 7 Beta. The volume has been phenomenal
n_maher Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 You gonna get any movies on BluRay, Nate? Buy? No. Rent? Yes, Netflix has already been converted and my wife and I watched Traitor last night (it was what we had) and it looked fantastic. And I downloaded a demo of MotoGP '08 last night so at some point today I'll get to see how high-def gaming looks on my TV.
Salt Peanuts Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 Setup the ps3 Color me jealous, especially since it appears I've missed out on the $150 off deal.
n_maher Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 Sorry to hear that Haj but yeah, you had to sign up for the playstation card before 12/31, I thought I posted that somewhere. Final price was ~$280 shipped which is a huge bargain for what it can do.
Salt Peanuts Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 I'm pretty sure you did post about that somewhere. I just didn't look too much into it at the time since I didn't really need one with my DVD player still working just fine. Of course, my luck would have it, the said DVD player has started to die this week.
The Monkey Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 Sorry to hear that Haj but yeah, you had to sign up for the playstation card before 12/31, I thought I posted that somewhere. Final price was ~$280 shipped which is a huge bargain for what it can do. Is it easy for, say, a wife to use for movies?
n_maher Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 Is it easy for, say, a wife to use for movies? Yes, there's a $25 Bluetooth remote that Sony sells that makes it function very much like any other DVD player.
JBLoudG20 Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 Buy? No. Rent? Yes, Netflix has already been converted and my wife and I watched Traitor last night (it was what we had) and it looked fantastic. And I downloaded a demo of MotoGP '08 last night so at some point today I'll get to see how high-def gaming looks on my TV. MotoGP 08 has some of the worst graphics I have seen on the PS3 platform. 09 looks to be decent, from the videos I've seen. The body positioning looks much more realistic and natural. I'll probably end up buying 09, but 08 is a steaming pile of shit. Its somewhat entertaining, but I just can't deal with how poorly its coded. The AI is a complete udder fucking joke.
JBLoudG20 Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 Yes, there's a $25 Bluetooth remote that Sony sells that makes it function very much like any other DVD player. And it won't integrate at all with your harmony. My buddy is looking into the IR-USB receivers for this harmony, I'll let you know what he finds.
cetoole Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 Took, and passed, the Howard County police physical and written tests.
