diebenkorn Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 dude, you spelled Turkey wrong... hahahah Congrats
laxx Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Hit the gym early afternoon, bought a new windshield wiper for the last one that flew off while I was driving, watched UFC at Hooters.
n_maher Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Worked on a clock for my office, pics to follow after the poly dries.
aardvark baguette Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 1) put jazz on stereo 2) in and out of sleep until noon 3) ate can of peaches
Dreadhead Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Got up at the but crack of dawn to drop my wife off at a race and then pick her up after. She was stoked because she set a PR and wasn't really trying. Installed web based control for Foobar2000 on my music PC that lets me control it from anywhere on the network. Yes I know I could do this many other ways. Anyway it's awesome: I will get a lot more use out of my speakers out of this. Spent the last couple hours working on my training plan for the next 52 weeks. This is going to be a lot of work (both the planning and execution).
crappyjones123 Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 congratulations tyler! feels nice to finish doesnt it interesting thesis. send it over for a read when you are done defending/publishing/whatever it is they make you wait for these days before it becomes public domain.
Nebby Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Got scammed by a cab that charged me $15 for a mile or two trip...but on a more positive note Southwest was asking for volunteers to go on a later flight, so I more than made up for that $15 with a flight voucher
mypasswordis Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 You could say it's not really scamming because pretty much all taxis are like that. You step in the car, it's $10-15 already. I had to pay $45 bucks or something to get driven like 10 miles once.
Augsburger Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 ....and don't forget the surcharges for bags and "fees" and such. AZ Skyharbor airport charges various "fees" for car rentals ( I know, not the same as a cab but) amounting to 50% in addition to the car rental price.
Nebby Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Well I get the feeling that I was scammed because sometime during the trip the meter was turned off, he just told me how much it was at the end. I do feel a bit better knowing it's just expensive in general.
jvlgato Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Here in Chi Town, there are several standard cab trips that are not metered. But it's clearly stated on signage.
Dusty Chalk Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Well I get the feeling that I was scammed because sometime during the trip the meter was turned off, he just told me how much it was at the end...Yeah, that's not right.
Salt Peanuts Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Tried to acquire extra lights so we can start/finish decorating our Christmas tree. Appearently, I should've done this earlier than now as I couldn't find any lights I needed.
Sherwood Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 congratulations tyler! feels nice to finish doesnt it interesting thesis. send it over for a read when you are done defending/publishing/whatever it is they make you wait for these days before it becomes public domain. Thanks, Anurag. It feels wonderful to be through it. What I actually finished was the post-defense edits, so it's ready for publication today. Of course, even if it wasn't I'm the sole copyright holder, so I could send it to whomever I so chose. I'd be happy to send it over your way. You could count yourself in the esteemed company of myself, my wife, and my defense team as one of the <10 people who will ever read it (God willing.)
swt61 Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 Had to leave Marc's house earlier than planned after getting the news that my Grandfather passed away this morning. I knew it was coming, but it's still a downer. He had 92 good years though, and was the best Grandfather a guy could ever hope to have.
Duggeh Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 I'm really sorry to hear that Steve. My condolences to you. 92 years is fine innings. I hope that your grandfather enjoyed them.
Sherwood Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 Sorry to hear it, Steve. May we all be so fortunate to live to 92 and have a grandson like you.
bozebuttons Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 Condolences Steve, 92 is a pretty good run.
n_maher Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 Sad news, Steve, I'm glad you got 92 years with him.
Absorbine_Sr Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 My condolences Steve. My mom is 91 so I can relate. I hope your Grandfather was able to enjoy all of his time down here.
Aimless1 Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 I think of my grandfathers often. I'm sorry for your loss.
