tyrion Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Ran into this guy that wanted to take his picture with me:
tyrion Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Really nice guy. He gave me his new business card which is metal. He said he just got them and I got the second one he gave out. He asked me to email the pic which I did. There could have been any celebrity sitting there and I would have walked by but it was the Woz.
morphsci Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Ran into this guy that wanted to take his picture with me: Now that's cool.
jvlgato Posted November 7, 2010 Report Posted November 7, 2010 Great pic, tyrion! I'm returning home from a 2 day continuing ed conference in UW Madison. Really great meeting, learned a lot. Current stuff and research phase stuff that'll probably come through in several years concerning pharmacogenetics and how it affects metabolism and therefore choice of meds; also, immunology/inflammation and how it offers a possible common mechanism by which it affects many aspects of our well being, including, among others, diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, fibromyalgia, chronic pain syndromes, and Depression/Bipolar Disorder. I'm really goofy, but boy, it's really great stuff to me ...

n_maher Posted November 7, 2010 Report Posted November 7, 2010 Worked. 5hrs in with no end in sight, but hopefully by 5.
agile_one Posted November 7, 2010 Report Posted November 7, 2010 Mike ... very cool photo op with the Woz. Where was that? Did you invite him to the meet?
jvlgato Posted November 7, 2010 Report Posted November 7, 2010 Raked. This was a few seconds before my son hit my daughter's face with a rake, she had a melt down, and it all fell apart. But I don't post those pictures!
jvlgato Posted November 7, 2010 Report Posted November 7, 2010 Heh, definitely! We have much worse than that for that purpose, though. I'm thinking the naked in the bathtub pics should do the trick.
laxx Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Cheered on a friend who ran the NYC Marathon today. We spent the afternoon chasing him down trying to see him as many times as we could, which meant a lot of running for us, heh. 1st stop, Flushing for us to eat. Then rushed to Queensboro Plaza (mile marker 15). Hopped back on the train once we saw him and rushed to 86th and 1st. It took us longer to get there than him, and that's with us running from Lexington to 1st AVE. Us non marathon runners were pretty tired after that. From there, we went over to 86th and Central Park East. Took a cab to 65th and Central Park West as that's where we were told the finish line was. We found out it was on 81st... So we jogged/ran up. Celebrated with a late lunch at our friend's restaurant on 83rd and Amsterdam called Flor De Mayo. Then went to The 13th Stop down by St. Marks to grab some celebratory drinks. Half off beer and the Giants destroying the Seahawks, fun day.

jvlgato Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 Finished setting up my husband's new 13" MBP, finally got him to switch. Nice job! I'm working on converting my wife. Any tips?
shellylh Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 Tell her you refuse to fix her computers problems unless it is Mac. If that doesn't work, remind her of all the scary viruses.
tyrion Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 Tell her if she gets a mac you won't have to fix it.

blessingx Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 Ummm, to be transparent, I work for that company. Not why I posted.
Voltron Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 They're damn funny, and I don't think transparency is really needed here.
